Yes, loads in our supermarket today.
.whole displays of them. I'm thrilled. Makes me feel like spring is coming! Also mini eggs aplenty 😂whats not to like?

48wheaties · 02/01/2025 15:51

They're always there after Christmas

Nothing remarkable

Amateurs 😂

I got creme eggs and caramel eggs for Christmas.

Marketing done just right imo 🤣

KimberleyClark · 02/01/2025 15:54

Valentine cards should be in the shops by now too.

NImumconfused · 02/01/2025 15:54

They're a bit slow in your area - there were creme eggs in our local store the week before Christmas!

Hoardasurass · 02/01/2025 15:55

Asda had cream eggs on sale on the 1st 😡

CalicoPusscat · 02/01/2025 15:55

Not again. It feels like a relentless succession of Easter Halloween Christmas

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 02/01/2025 15:56

Just ignore them. Nobody is forcing you to buy a massive bag of mini eggs and them eat them even though I've already eaten loads of Christmas chocolates and cheese and I've ended up laying on the sofa up feeling sick.

MindenReload · 02/01/2025 15:57

They were on the shelves on NYE. 😆

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 02/01/2025 15:58

Ah happens every year, just like some shops start with Christmas items right after August Bank Holiday Monday.

twobluehorses · 02/01/2025 15:58

hot cross buns in Morrisons on New Years Eve..

ChewieChewieChewie · 02/01/2025 15:58

I love Easter eggs - I swear the chocolate tastes better egg-shaped 🤣. Always used to grab a few when they were reduced after Easter.

Now it's three months of various offers and none available after Easter - it doesn't feel the same somehow.

whatisforteamum · 02/01/2025 16:00

Ooh I love a hot cross bun or mini eggs.

Yep, 17th December in my local B&M which is the earliest I’ve seen them. Hobbycraft next door has a full on Easter range and window display.

TheJackalsJackal · 02/01/2025 16:01

I saw them before new year. A fucking joke.

its pushed me into anti-consumerism and I’m now a Scrooge for all ‘holidays’.

TheFlis · 02/01/2025 16:02

I think most places just replace Christmas stuff with Easter on the shelves so they don’t have to keep moving things around in stores.

Mydogisamassivetwat · 02/01/2025 16:02

Honestly, why does it matter when things are on sale?

It doesn’t affect your life, if you don’t want to buy it, don’t.

Creme eggs seem to be year-round now. Our local shop always stocks them. Ditto mini-eggs.

Cable1905 · 02/01/2025 16:03

I had a Malteser one for brunch this morning.

I had been discussing Maltesers with an old aunt when we went to the panto last week. She brought the egg yesterday when she came for dinner. I decided it was better just to get rid of it immediately. Disappointing - the chocolate is so artificial tasting. Still to open the actual Maltesers.

Because we are being ch stanly marketed at for junk and other shit that makes these business a ridiculous amount of money. The earlier they’re on the shelves, the higher the likelihood that people buy them, eat them, and re buy. Thus making them more money (and us unhealthier).

also how can any holiday seem special when there’s never a break between them?

Edited

I am with you on the taste. No idea why that is. I went through a period of 'just get a chocolate bar, it's cheaper' but it isn't the same. Psychological, probably.

Don't think we've got them year round here, just whatever's left over the few weeks immediately after Easter. These were definitely new supplies though, box loads of them. Not a fan myself, though i used to love mini eggs as a kids - not sure if it's my tastes that have changed or the recipe!

BillStickersWillBeProsocuted · 02/01/2025 16:09

What should be put in the "seasonal" part of supermarkets between Christmas and easter then?

re eggs tasting better than normal choclate - I was told it's because it has a higher oil content so it fills the moulds better
