This doesn't bother me too much, but what does annoy me is that shops seem to clear out all the seasonal stuff a week or so before the event

I went into b&m a week before Halloween to get costumes for the kids and they had completely disappeared, and in their place was Christmas stuff, I had been waiting for payday!

It's so bad

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 02/01/2025 18:59

They were in our Tesco store on Christmas Eve

Yes this is very annoying. They're losing so much last minute trade. And just feels odd to remove stuff before the event has even happened.

52for2025 · 02/01/2025 19:12

Just checked tesco online and they have Lindt bunny and Easter sprinkles. I love been organised but this is a step too far for me.

TheFormidableMrsC · 02/01/2025 19:12

There was a shelf of them in my local Tesco in the week before Christmas. Ridiculous.

KezzaMucklowe · 02/01/2025 19:14

This really really irks me. It may be irrational but I get a right proper huff on about it.
It's still Christmas technically, we don't need easter eggs, I've still got a cupboard full of stollen, mince pies and turkisg delight ffs.
I will however let hot cross buns off the hook. Especially the marks n sparks salted caramel ones.

louderthan · 02/01/2025 19:19

Good! Spring is coming!!

Needmorelego · 02/01/2025 19:25

@Mountainhowl @Disturbia81 they'd probably sold out.
My nearest Poundland still had the Halloween stock right up until the day - but it was literally an almost empty aisle of the last few bits and bobs.

YowieeF · 02/01/2025 19:29

Supermarkets and distribution hubs have long lead times, once the Xmas stock is done the next big ‘event’ is Easter, so hubs (distribution centres) start stocking up - or manufacturing slows down and runs out of space.

nothing more to it.

Auburngal · 02/01/2025 19:29

Probably sold out as last delivery is a week- ten days before.

DelicateSoundOfEchos · 02/01/2025 19:48

It's just chocolate in a different shape. I really don't see the need to feel anything about it.

Buy it if you want. Don't buy it if you don't. But enough people want it and are buying it to make it worth putting out.

OldTinHat · 02/01/2025 20:13

There were for sale in B&M before Christmas.

Eldermillennial2024 · 02/01/2025 20:23

I don't get why people are so shocked by this. It's the same as last year and I it makes sense the supermarkets need something to fill the shelves that held all the Christmas stock.

HVPRN · 02/01/2025 20:26

On Boxing Day, saw them in my local Morrisons.

TulipCat · 02/01/2025 20:30

There are loads of things in the supermarket that I don't want to buy. Just skip the seasonal aisle if you don't want anything from it. Personally I find it odd that "back to school" stuff is in the shops before the summer holidays have even started, but I just wheel on by with my trolley.

Londonrach1 · 02/01/2025 20:34

Saw them before Christmas...none issue ..not ready for Easter yet although was tempted by the mini eggs

Wegovypictures · 02/01/2025 23:53

Mine had them in early December!!

Lanzarotelady · 04/01/2025 12:42

Are you also surprised that it goes darker each year and then gets lighter?

SwallowsAmazons · 04/01/2025 14:41

YABU shops have always replaced the Christmas stock with Easter stock from Boxing Day. That’s the way seasonal items work. Mini egg season is short enough so I’m all for it.

Needmorelego · 04/01/2025 14:44

So far today I have eaten a Cadbury Caramel egg and a Malteser bunny.
Yesterday I tried the new Terry's Choc orange egg (slightly disappointed tbh).
January is great 🐇🥚

MoreNetflix · 04/01/2025 14:48

It’s the same every year. Have you not noticed in previous years?

Sinkintotheswamp · 04/01/2025 15:16

I had my first mini eggs on the 31st. They're always out at Xmas.

Lanzarotelady · 04/01/2025 16:35

48wheaties · 02/01/2025 16:12

That is wild!

I think you need to get out a bit more if I am honest

Willoo · 04/01/2025 16:37

Hoardasurass · 02/01/2025 15:55

Asda had cream eggs on sale on the 1st 😡

Crème eggs weren’t invented for Easter. They’ve always been a normal thing
