Are there any conspiracy theories you believe in?

Inspired by another thread

I find conspiracy theories really interesting. I have never ‘believed’ any of them, more enjoy discussing them and how likely it seems that they could be true. I also think it’s more far fetched to believe that everything we have ever been told or ever will be told is the whole truth.

Are there any CTs you believe in? Lead me down a rabbit hole please!

To be honest, if people didn’t learn from Covid and still believe everything the government and media tells them, there is no hope for them.

I shouldn't because I'm a die hard scientist, but the UFO things talked about in Congress. WTF is that all about? Shudder

What's that?

scalt · 22/12/2024 19:31

Ones I don't really believe, but that make me smile:
The Queen died years before we were told she did, and that Dame Helen Mirren stood in for her occasional appearances. (More credible is that the Queen wasn't actually in the coffin that everybody filed past.)
That it wasn't a coincidence that Prince Philip said in 1988 "When I die, I would like to be reincarnated as a deadly virus, to do something about overpopulation". I'm sure that "population control" is something that royals and politicians dream of.
That Partygate was a conspiracy to anger the public back to normality, as frightening the pants off them had worked too well, and they liked being paid to sit at home. (I know this is totally unfeasible, as Boris took so many people down with him, but I can just imagine the cash being waved in front of his nose.)

One which I think is VERY possible:
While I don't believe Covid was a hoax, or a conspiracy to push vaccines, I do think that once lockdown became inevitable, somebody in government said "we must seize this golden, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experiment with exactly how far we can push the public in the modern age; how much we can bully, bribe, gaslight and terrify them into obedience; let's see what kind of messaging works best for persuading people to do exactly what we tell them, and to follow absurd rules which any intelligent person can see make no sense. We might need this knowledge in a future catastrophe." Even if all that is not quite true, I am in no doubt that the "behavioural experts" were studying the public reactions carefully, taking notes, and are even now writing up their dossiers on "this is what we believe will work well next time, and what did not work before".

Dr David Kelly was assassinated by the UK government.

This is no conspiracy theory imho.

Moonfasa100 · 22/12/2024 19:32

I also think that princess Diana's death was very convenient. And may have been more than an accident.

But you never know.

The government (ie public ownership) owning houses and renting them back to us would solve an awful lot of problems and save both the private and public purse a lot of money over time. What exactly was his problem with council housing?

He was using this to attempt to ‘get me to see’/scare me as I own my house outright. But I just laughed as obviously‘they’ can’t just take my house. I don’t have a problem with council houses & would be happy with this as I could keep my house proceeds for retirement but it won’t happen.

After my ex went down this rabbit hole & spent his life trying to get me to stop being ‘brainwashed’ by the MSM and believe him that Covid vaccines killed & are still killing millions, that we will
own nothing, we will all work for the government and rent houses back from them & many other ridiculous things, I just totally turn off if I get a sniff of this thinking from anyone!

I also have a visceral reaction towards anyone who believes any of this nonsense. Unfortunately one such person is my own brother who also rants about MSM and is a rabid anti-vaxxer.

"Climate hysteria to rip off the taxpayer so that our money can be stolen and funnelled away. Watch who benefits. The car industry and big energy again."

And it doesn't trouble you that all attempts to play down climate change come from the fossil fuel industry? You're not "following the money", you're doing the opposite.

Do you ever look beyond the obvious?

You dont need to be a rocket scientist to see that it is those very same companies which are preparing to rake it in from the ‘green agenda’. Who do you think is ‘investing’ in these so called green initiatives. They want want a payback.

It’s an age old way of doing business. Create hysteria by saying there is a problem, then come up with a solution, and then sell that solution to the idiots who you just fooled.

Jill Dando murder was a set up as she knew about Saville and others and was planning to expose.

Snorlaxo · 22/12/2024 18:36

Dr David Kelly was assassinated by the UK government.

This and Marilyn monroe being killed are the only conspiracy theories I believe. So much evidence to suggest they were both killed and it was covered up.

blankittyblank · 22/12/2024 19:36

@RichardnotJudy yes totally fair enough, my point was more why they stopped going altogether. Which is all the reasons I gave.
I would like to know what reasons have lead people to believe they're faked though. I haven't ever seen anything vaguely compelling to lead me believe that

Moonfasa100 · 22/12/2024 19:38

I do think there may have been something damaging in the cover vaccine.

I had it, and my health has never been good since.

I wish I hadn't taken it

Lots of people knew about Savile, including Johnny Lydon (qv). Why weren't they all assassinated?

What do you believe?

Too many documented cases where “brain dead” individuals, sometimes on their way to be harvested, have woken up.

Corinthiana · 22/12/2024 19:38

Because Jill Dando was a tv presenter and could do an expose on Saville.

They've been a bit slow at rolling them out them. Climate change has been on the radar for over half a century.

No-one would believe Johnny he literally told the truth publicly and was ignored

It’s tough when it’s family, isn’t it?! My friend’s brother has gone the same & it’s caused so many issues because it’s brought up by him as soon as he’s had a drink & my very easy going friend has lost her rag a couple of times.

My other friend, who is intelligent & a very good ICU nurse is similar, only about Covid though. She’s all
for the flu jab but is incessant with he views on the Covid jab & starts to get really wound up
of people aren’t agreeing.

I just completely change the subject or make my excuses & leave.

I think you're the idiot here, who has been duped by the mega rich fossil fuel industry.

No doubt you'd have believed tobacco-industry-funded efforts to downplay the harmfulness of cigarettes, blaming the hysteria on the nicotine patch industry.

Basically all attempts at questioning or disproving man made climate change have come from the fossil fuel industry - and you've lapped up the propaganda.
