Are there any conspiracy theories you believe in?

Inspired by another thread

I find conspiracy theories really interesting. I have never ‘believed’ any of them, more enjoy discussing them and how likely it seems that they could be true. I also think it’s more far fetched to believe that everything we have ever been told or ever will be told is the whole truth.

Are there any CTs you believe in? Lead me down a rabbit hole please!

We don’t know 100% but in order for the reports of her not wearing a seatbelt to be lies, an awful lot of people would have to be involved in that falsehood, including the paparazzi, medics, first responders, etc.

Plus the final photographs bear this out.

People kept quiet about Jimmy Savile. People in positions of trust and caring positions, literally thousands knew what was going on.

Totally different. People were talking about Jimmy saville at the time. People in authority knew. It's just they didn't give a shit!

@SuperfluousHen What are these substances, chemically and why are we supposed to believe they are able to change the climate?

The main culprit for climate change is CO2. That one is odorless.

It has been known since the 1800s that CO2 can cause climate change. The first person to demonstrate this experimentally was actually a woman, Eunice Foote. It should come as no surprise then that just about every person who doesn't agree with climate change is also a raging misogynist.

The stuff you smell from car exhausts is a diverse range of thousands of different chemicals which are known to cause hundreds of different health issues. I won't list them here, but they are available with a quick google search.

We don’t know the full truth about JFK assassination

Jack Ruby was just too convenient to be having at the right time

Having been to Dallas and done the whole tour thing, including the house where Lee Harvey Oswald lived there’s no way he could done it. The angles of where the shots came from were all wrong.

No. Because I have a degree of intelligence.

Conspiracy theories are created by people who get rich by sucking in the gullible. Some could be deemed to be harmless but many are dangerous (e.g those that died from covid because they believed the crackpot antivaxx theories or those that are designed to instil fear such as the 5g bollox). All are designed to be 'interesting' so you keep clicking. Every time you click on a conspiracy theory website you are lining the pockets of these vile people.

Many things that are now true/factual originally started off as conspiracy theories

@MissTrip82 I don’t think governments always do the right thing or adhere to the rules, why would anyone be that stupid? People of normal intelligence are well aware that’s not the case.

So you agree then that the government and the powers in control are currently doing things that are ethically questionable, that the general public is unaware of?

That's literally what a conspiracy is.

No, it's the "cover up" that becomes the conspiracy. Or believing everything being done is not in our best interests. Also, "in our best interests" is a subjective measure. For example, many would believe that pursuing vaccines is not in our best interests, despite overwhelming evidence that the benefits outweigh the potential, and very rare, risks...

Perhaps try looking up Young Earth Creationism, there isn't any room for fossil fuels that were made millions of years ago.

Oh, and aliens are demons.

Covid came from a lab.

Quite possibly.

But unless you think it was a deliberate lab leak, I don't think it's really a 'conspiracy theory'.

KimberleyClark · 22/12/2024 20:51

JFK. Lee Harvey Oswald didn’t shoot him. There was a far right conspiracy to do so.

SuperfluousHen · 22/12/2024 20:41

What are these substances, chemically and why are we supposed to believe they are able to change the climate?

Burning fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas is the primary driver of climate change, as it releases massive amounts of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Scientific evidence links this directly to global warming:
CO2 Concentration and Fossil Fuels: Since the Industrial Revolution, CO2 levels have increased from 280 ppm to over 420 ppm (NOAA data, 2023). Isotope analysis shows that this CO2 comes predominantly from fossil fuels, as their isotopic signature differs from natural sources.
Radiative Forcing: Fossil fuel emissions trap heat in the atmosphere by enhancing the greenhouse effect. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) states that CO2 contributes the most to radiative forcing, directly linked to human activities.
Temperature Correlation: Studies show a strong correlation between fossil fuel combustion and rising global temperatures. Historical data demonstrate that temperature increases align with industrial emissions.
Ocean Acidification: Oceans absorb about 25% of emitted CO2. This has caused a 30% increase in ocean acidity, disrupting marine ecosystems, further proving fossil fuel-derived CO2’s impact.

Yeah that’s how groupthink, multinational influence and financial heirs by works. It’s not rocket science.

Covid was real. Produced in a lab in Wuhan and leaked from there, as confirmed by the FBA now. It was never going to be a major threat to anyone young or without core morbidities. But it was designed to borrow and print trillions in the name of compliant, docile western taxpayer. In other words, trillions were stolen. And it was funneled to government lobbyists of which big pharma was a major player.

Lemonadeand · 22/12/2024 20:53

Not sure Epstein committed suicide given how many powerful friends he could have taken down with him.

Worldgonecrazy · 22/12/2024 20:53

That the phrase has ‘conspiracy theorist’ was invented by the US government to discredit anyone who questioned the official narrative.

that the really bad alien autopsy film in the 1960s was created to make conspiracy theorists look stupid.

Lockerbie is also regarded as a conspiracy theory - looking forward to watching the new TV series when it’s released next month.

shuggles · 22/12/2024 20:53

@AwfullyWeeBillyBigchin No, it's the "cover up" that becomes the conspiracy.

As I said, if you believe the powers that be never do anything that the general public has no knowledge of, then you are delusional.

Or believing everything being done is not in our best interests.

That's not a prerequisite for a conspiracy theory.

Not useful to lump all things together. Lots of medications turn out to have side effects ( thalidomide , blood transfusion scandal) and also people died from the Covid vaccine.
Ignorant to lump caution of novel medical technology as a conspiracy theory. So many high profile people and media people critical of anyone unsure of mRNA vaccines have ZERO biomedical understanding or education.

Jill Dando murder was a set up as she knew about Saville and others and was planning to expose.

This I do believe has some credibility. I think at the time there were suggestions that it might have been something she had Intel on and was going to whistle-blower- that would make sense.

Diana, on the other hand, a horrible accident IMO. She was sailing close to the wind and I think the company she was keeping and the 'lifestyle' she was living made it something like this more likely to happen.
