Are there any conspiracy theories you believe in?

Inspired by another thread

I find conspiracy theories really interesting. I have never ‘believed’ any of them, more enjoy discussing them and how likely it seems that they could be true. I also think it’s more far fetched to believe that everything we have ever been told or ever will be told is the whole truth.

Are there any CTs you believe in? Lead me down a rabbit hole please!

He's never been charged with her murder has he.

Sadly not - without her body there’s no evidence and without evidence he can’t be charged. He’s already in prison for other crimes - not that that can be any solace for the McCanns.

'Fossil' fuels are actually renewable and being produced by the earth all the time. I have no idea on the veracity of that but it's interesting to ponder if it were true.....

This is 100% true.. the issue issue is that we are using them significantly faster than they could ever be created. What we use in years took millennia to create.

Oh, the ears! You've just reminded me about the hundreds of videos 'proving' Kate Middleton was dead and you could see it was a stand-in with William at the garden centre because ... ears 😂

Ears feature a lot in CTs .. Katy Perry, Kate Middleton, Paul McCartney... I'm going to see if I can find any more!

Absolutely horrifying that you would think it and exponentially more horrifying that you would say it. You might want to look into what happened to the man that was sued for spouting this view. I just can’t believe there are people out there that see something as horrific as this and think, I know what, I’ll believe some ridiculous conspiracy theory, and vomit it all over the Internet, instead of just feeling intense sympathy for the parents. And intense horror about the gun situation in the US.

Little fact for you, guns are the leading cause of death for children in the US. But you have fun with your conspiracy theories.

And if you don’t have an iota of empathy in your body, you might want to consider your legal position.

Brilliant thread. I dont think Marilyn Monroe was murdered I think unfortunately she overdosed by mistake that night . Not sure about Diana , probably an accident . Never believed the McCanns . Interesting about the Titanic have never heard about that also if Epstein didnt commit suicide what happened

theDudesmummy · 22/12/2024 20:29

Of course fossil fuels are being created all the time. That's not the issue at all. The two issues are: first that we are using them faster than they are being created and so they will run out,and secondly (more seriously in the long-term) their use releases substances that are dangerous to the ecosystem and climate.

Parsley1234 · 22/12/2024 20:29

David Kelly definitely did not commit suicide his biography was brilliant and I would love to know why Alistair Campbell StILL gets air time after his character assassination of DK on question time the night before dreadful man

SuperfluousHen · 22/12/2024 20:30

I can’t believe that out governments never lie to us. Some of these theories are true.

It could have been an accident but it's strange that she wrote a note saying

"They're planning an accident in my car"

"... to make the path clear for Charles to marry Tiggy." The end's always cut off in photos, to allow us to assume she was talking about Camilla. But Chaz never had marital designs on the nanny; this note just underlines poor Diana's state of paranoia at the time.

More likely he’s latched onto something because he’s low on intelligence & this makes him feel like he’s onto something.

This is someone that thinks ‘off the beacon track’ is a correct phrase.

Et wallah! 😂

But weren’t those who protested that there were no WMDs portrayed as conspiracy theorists until it was proven to be a lie?

You don’t find those people willing to come forward and stand by their die hard support for the government and MSM anymore. It’s like they never existed.

Apoarently everyone always knew that we were lied to in parliament and that WMDs didn’t exist. And that the authorities knew this and took us to war anyway.

The hard of thinking never admit that they were vociferous in their support of the lies. It’s the same with Covid. The die hard Covid enthusiasts who called everyone else a conspiracy theorist are slowly slinking away. Give it a few years. It’ll be like they never existed. No one will ever own up to being duped.

PurpleSky300 · 22/12/2024 20:31

I find Jeffrey Epstein's suicide far too suspicious to be suicide.

It's not a 'conspiracy' but I often wonder about the truth of some criminal cases, eg. JonBenet Ramsey - I don't think we'll ever know for sure so it's just one theory after another.

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 22/12/2024 20:32

Luminousalumnus · 22/12/2024 20:23

David Kelly, Jeffrey Epstein and the spy in the suitcase didn't kill themselves.

The spy in the suitcase is very, very odd. There was someone else's dna in the bag but no matches.

I’m generally of the opinion that conspiracy theories are stupid at best, downright dangerous at worst. DD21 was explaining to me the other day the ‘Larry Stylinson’ One Direction conspiracy theory, which involves secret marriage and a fake baby among many other deluded beliefs. All I could think was WTF Confused

Haha that is slightly bonkers but there are still a hell of a lot of closeted celebrities, the members of One Direction among them.

Although I'm not sure you can really say Harry Styles is in the closet, he just hasn't publicly labelled himself as anything in particular.

If it’s a choice between conspiracy and cock up, it’s always cock up.

Radon Girls.
Dark Waters.
Erin Brockovich.
Dopesick.

All films about huge, life changing cover ups.
None of these were cock ups, these were all cases of money being more important than humans.

I'm willing to bet that in 100 years there will be a list of cases going on now, in our near past and in our future, where yet again the insatiable greed of certain humans is more important than the health and safety of the people they’re apparently working for.

Wherever there is money involved there is always the potential for people to be hurt to benefit those who take in the money. That’s anything but a cock up, and until it’s proven it’s very much conspiracy theory.

Tangfastic71 · 22/12/2024 20:33

The way that politicians lie blatantly and never answer questions when they are quizzed adds fuel to distrust. I'd say that they actually conspire to create these theories to detract from their utter, self-serving incompetence.

Didn't she accuse Tiggy of having an abortion?

TheKeatingFive · 22/12/2024 20:35

Epstein did not kill himself. That seems so self-evidently true to me, I can't see how anyone believes the suicide story. I wonder who is on that list.

nouveaunomduplume · 22/12/2024 20:36

The most successful conspiracy theories are the ones that people don't even realise are conspiracy theories. e.g. Christianity.
