Yelled at the Yodel collection point

The guys in the corner shop have always been rude - to the extent that it almost seems like a joke. They're particularly pissed off about Yodel parcel collection and drop off, a service which they offer. I usually try to buy something as well as doing parcel stuff (I'm in there about once a week for Yodel), but it seems to make no odds.
And then today... I just got so pissed off with the attitude from the two together, they made me wait behind other people despite me being first, because I was collecting a parcel. I then asked them if they didn't like doing Yodel, as I was genuinely curious 🙈 And one bloke started raising his voice and telling me how shit it was, that I had told him the wrong day I got the text re. collection (I didn't!), they have a system... he was really yelling, so after saying ' please stop shouting' to him which made it worse, I then stupidly shouted back that he is incredibly rude, I hate using his shop, and he's a dickhead. 😬 Really smooth. He then said I was banned.
I feel like a grade A plonker for losing it like that, but also strangely good for letting loose after being treated like shit forever.
Am I actually banned? 🙊 Is using a shop's parcel service cheeky? I'm all over the place, as the shouting was actually really horrible! (Mine included.)

I'd imagine they'll make life difficult for you if you go back, and may well send the parcels back without handing them over, so for peace of mind I'd avoid in future!

Our corner shop is the same, I've had to start using another one.

Let Yodel know - a company should be informed that their agents are behaving like pricks to the customers. And if these guys just work there, rather than morning the shop, I'd let their boss know too!

After it happened, I actually changed my Vinted profile to exclude Yodel.

Well if it's their shop I suppose they can ban you for whatever reason they want.
I'm not surprised you lost it with them though as they sound like twats (or at least the one who shouted at you). If they treat all their customers like that they won't stay in business long. Never understand why some companies offered something but get pissed off when people use it.
I'd try and find another shop as even if they don't ban you they'll be extremely unpleasant. Hopefully another business owner/worker will be more pleasant

People on Vinted seem to prefer Yodel to Evri though, v annoying! But yes, no more of that shop - sorry others have had similar.
I still feel fucked off with being treated so badly.

I avoid using one shop for parcels - they’re friendly enough but you always feel like they hate doing them and resent the whole thing. Which is their prerogative but I'm just us in a service they provide and don’t want to feel like I’m ruining their whole day as a result. Parcel lockers don’t sigh when you go to drop something off…

I'd be tempted to put something on the local facebook 'Spotted' page to let people know what twats they are. They will soon have a look at their behaviour if people avoid their shop.

Ther will be other Yodel sites., find them.

@BoneTiredandWired that might be true , but if an independent shop he probably thinks " my shop my rules" you could get in touch with yodel but it would be a case of "he said she said"

I changed My Vinted to exclude yodel too for the same reason. Probably same ship! So rude.

Why do they have that service in their shop if they're annoyed by people using it. I'm sure they have a choice.

Either way, I’d not keep using them- firstly because I wouldn’t trust them not to “lose” my parcels, but also because they don’t deserve custom to help them keep their status as a yodel drop off agent.

I’d also look into making a complaint to yodel. They may swap across to use the shop round the other corner! Win win!

YANBU to let it all out if you're OK to go elsewhere for parcels. Must have been satisfying.

I have experience of a post office ran by a dickhead in Margate. He would take great satisfaction in making my life difficult.
Refusing to accept a hand-written label, when it had never been a problem before. Then aceepting it. Then asking me to add name to the return address. Then refusing to lend a pen that was in front of him. So I queue again to buy a pen to write my name on the back. I buy the pen. He then sends me to the back of the queue to hand in the parcel... All of that coupled with a shitty, miserly attitude.
I walked in with a large parcel once and there was a massive queue. I asked (shoulda' known better by then) if I could prop the parcel by the counter to collect my kid from school - the school is literally round the corner from the post office, I would be gone for mere minutes, it was raining and the parcel was very ungainly to carry due to wind and rain... Well, he looked like I'd asked him to chew on a turd. So off I trod with my parcel... He then objected to it being damp when I returned 🤦

Well... He is quite irrational I think. If I went in there and bought some of the massively overpriced vapes or sweets on offer, I don't think he'd turn me away. But who knows!

Must be a Yodel thing because the guy in my local shop is exactly the same! Evri shop is fine though.

Well, if you called the owner a dickhead I think you can safely assume you are banned.

Your whole post does beg the question if they are so useless why are you still using them?

The yodel point near us is terrible too. Really horrible staff. TBF the staff aren’t great when you are in there to buy an extortionate bottle of milk either!

I don’t use corner shops now for Evri or Yodel, it just seems like a massive hinderance to the staff. Which it probably is, but why have it in there then? These are all family owned shops so surely either the money from having that in that there is worth it or it isn’t? If it’s worth it, you should be pleasant and treat drop offs as any other customer.

Some co-ops have Yodel drop off points. Although they always seem to be crashing when I use them.
