This has happened a few times to me lately, on topics I’m quite knowledgeable about, then I get to the end and can’t be arsed with the drama. Does anyone else do this?

OP posts:
woffley · 18/11/2024 20:16

It's an excellent policy on social media.

Octavia64 · 18/11/2024 20:16

Yes.

Iwontlethtesungodownonme · 18/11/2024 20:16

Yep.

WinterCrow · 18/11/2024 20:16

Yes, and it's becoming more frequent.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 18/11/2024 20:18

Yep. I find it really cathartic. Normally happens when I really disagree with a post, or it triggers me somehow - I'm a people pleaser and don't like arguing online, so typing out my argument and deleting seems to be the best policy!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 18/11/2024 20:19

Yes, I have did this exact thing very recently because

grafittiartist · 18/11/2024 20:21

Loads!!

GreenSmithing · 18/11/2024 20:22

Yes, especially now online content is increasingly likely to be scraped for AI training

itsmylife7 · 18/11/2024 20:22

Yes often.

Gettingbysomehow · 18/11/2024 20:23

Yes OP 10 minutes ago on another post. I just couldnt be srsed with it all.

BackToRealitySigh · 18/11/2024 20:23

Yep all the time

Polyp0 · 18/11/2024 20:23

Yes. Specially if it's something other people on the thread are saying too

LizzoBennett · 18/11/2024 20:24

Ah come on, you don't have to reply if someone gets snarky. Just ignore them and their drama. It shouldn't stop you from giving your opinion. You could help someone.

BlackberrySky · 18/11/2024 20:25

Oh yes, definitely. I start my response and then decide I just don't want to be involved.

Sparklybanana · 18/11/2024 20:25

Yep. Vast majority of times. I wonder why I'm bothering writing to complete strangers when I could be doing something productive.

Ginkypig · 18/11/2024 20:25

Ye I do. Quite often too!

I just think can I be arsed with someone arguing just for thrills or is this actually going to be useful for the op?

also I quite often write out a big post then think while I don’t hide anything from my past I think do I want this experience from my past on the internet for all to see forever.

Thedogscollar · 18/11/2024 20:26

Yes very often, then I think I haven't got the time or energy for the reactions to my post so I delete.

MrsAvocet · 18/11/2024 20:27

More than once today!

AutumnFroglets · 18/11/2024 20:27

Frequently. Never used to do it but I'm becoming more "fuck it" as there seems to be more and more goady threads lately.

nadine90 · 18/11/2024 20:27

All the time. Especially when it's something personal.

Missionimprobable · 18/11/2024 20:27

Yes, I've done it twice today (day off work).
People are too quick to find fault, not read your post properly or completely take what you're saying the wrong way and jump on you.
It's absolutely draining

Yes very often, then I think I haven't got the time or energy for the reactions to my post so I delete.

I find this too. Although on occasion I have added my piece and then hidden the thread so I don't have to bother with the responses!
