This has happened a few times to me lately, on topics I’m quite knowledgeable about, then I get to the end and can’t be arsed with the drama. Does anyone else do this?

OP posts:
EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 19/11/2024 20:19

I have just written out and deleted an OP twice because I can't tell the story without using more details than I want if I don't want to be identified

RightOnTheEdge · 19/11/2024 20:19

Yeah, I do it all the time.

XWKD · 19/11/2024 20:20

Yep.

WillowTit · 19/11/2024 20:20

and cant be bothered to get into an argument, and cannot resist threads im on so my willpower of posting and then leaving it,
just fades

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 19/11/2024 20:22

Frequently. Especially when OP hasn't come back and other posters are actually just arguing among themselves.

FoxtrotOscarKindaDay · 19/11/2024 20:26

@bluebalou Assume you use the app, if you use the website and type @ the entire list of posters comes up (starting with the OP) so you just need to scroll and select.

oh yes,

Oniya · 19/11/2024 20:27

Yes because it doesn’t matter how logical and well-rounded and knowledgeable you are, sometimes you can never persuade irrational or batshit entrenched views.

You could be world expert and are still fighting against ‘facts’ on social media and Fred’s neighbour.

oh yes,

I call these TGL threads: “types, goads, and leaves”.

Neverlikedwatermuch · 19/11/2024 20:35

Always. Sometimes something gets my back up enough to comment, if I feel it’s something personal or I need to defend myself, but I tend to see it that it’s not worth wasting time caring or putting in the effort because you can’t change the minds of idiots. The people who do and seem to enjoy the drama clearly have no life so it’s never a good idea to engage, they have so much time on their hands it’ll never end otherwise.

DramaAlpaca · 19/11/2024 20:37

Yes, often

ImNunTheWiser · 19/11/2024 20:42

All the time tbh. But sometimes I get weirdly drawn in. Like on a couple of current threads where I’ve not actually got skin in the game but have found myself posting against people who can’t grasp basic facts - not my opinion - just actual, basic, facts.
Wrestling pigs springs to mind.

Disturbia81 · 19/11/2024 20:44

Yes, and I feel good when I've not sent it

Sometimes, just sometimes, a long text needs to be sent though 😆

Starhaf · 20/11/2024 13:36

All the time! But have learnt )from experience) to ensure the potential recipient is removed from the address line before typing my response.....accidentally pressed send once before deleting name of the recipient. So they received it......

BookishBabe · 20/11/2024 13:50

All the time.
