Doesn't bother me, but partner thinks it's weird and shuts the cat downstairs.

My cat bites me if I so much as twitch a foot so it would be a very dangerous all around if he were allowed in the room. Also I'd find it a bit odd....cats have an off-putting way of staring at you.

Most people I know with cats seem to treat them like a member of the family.

Having sex with another member of the family sitting on the bed silently watching you is all kinds of wrong, so I’m going with YABU on this one!

The cat will watch. And judge. And when they make eye contact with you afterwards, you will know that they have seen everything and they were not impressed.

It’s never bothered us, we’ve had cats who manage to sleep through any human lovemaking elsewhere on the bed. I might have felt differently if they watched the activities.

Nah I think I'd find it off-putting with the cat there. For me the cat would be out. Guess that's because the cat is like a fur baby.

I’m with your husband, couldn’t possibly even the cat is someone watching to me.
That said we didn’t have sex the entire first 8 months of either child’s life as they shared our room and I couldn’t do it with them in there.
Soon made up for it though and they are adult and very nearly adult now so no long term relationship problems.

My view is that if we can do it without disturbing the cat, we're doing it wrong!

I usually put the cats away but I'm more bothered by a dog who will watch and pant 🤢

Our cat is too cuddly and friendly for this- the second we sit on the sofa she jumps up on one of our knees for a cuddle, when she comes in the bedroom she clambers all over us both until she decides who she wants to settle on. There is no way we could have sex with her in the room, she’d be all over us 🤣

Dogs' pants are not a pretty sight.
