Do you bath your kids everyday?

How often do your children have a bath -
aged 7 and 9.

Surely it cannot be everyday?? Or am I being thick.

Every other day here unless they've done something to get particularly dirty or smelly. We do a sink wash on non bath days mine are 4 and 6.

Viewfrommyhouse · 05/11/2024 12:47

Shower every night.

Catza · 05/11/2024 12:48

We keep to the same schedule as ourselves - shower daily with some occasional gaps if there was no vigorous activity (wash the "strategic" areas with a cloth). Bath is optional once a week.
I think a daily bath is quite extravagant nowadays.

Peopleinmyphone · 05/11/2024 12:48

My 8 year old has a bath every evening, aside from the day he has swimming lessons and then it's a shower at swimming instead. We don't wash his hair everyday though.

Shower every night

Nastynigel · 05/11/2024 12:49

you're damaging their skin if you bath/ shower every day.

Bath 2/3 times a week for small children. Eldest is a teen so he has daily morning shower.

firsttimemum1230 · 05/11/2024 12:50

I try too but if not I only miss 1 night a week or 2 but she will have a bath that next morning

TotallyKerplunked · 05/11/2024 12:50

Mine shower every morning, mostly a quick "wash the important bits"

tintinsanfran123 · 05/11/2024 12:50

Every second or third day. Our 7 yo gets a flare up of eczema if we do every day. Gets basic wash on in between days

Coolbreezee · 05/11/2024 12:51

Most days. Once or twice a fortnight we may let it slide, if they aren't especially grubby, or they are overtired, sick etc.

teatoast8 · 05/11/2024 12:51

Twice a week

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 05/11/2024 12:52

Mine are teens now but up to around age 7 maybe they were bathed every night. It was just part of the evening routine, helped them to settle for the night etc (plus with playing outside a lot they were often grubby!)

From about 7 years on they moved to having a quick shower every night.

Now they're teens they shower whenever they want but mostly first thing in the morning.

LifeD1lemma · 05/11/2024 12:52

4 and 6yos have a bath 2-3 times a week. Wash every day obviously.

Abigaillovesholidays · 05/11/2024 12:53

It cannot be good for anyone's skin to be showering every single day surely?

Catza · 05/11/2024 12:53

Nastynigel · 05/11/2024 12:49

you're damaging their skin if you bath/ shower every day.

So don't bath or shower them every day if this is what you believe.

Its not

Sii · 05/11/2024 12:54

Bath once or twice a week and a shower every other day

taxguru · 05/11/2024 12:54

Bath or shower every day. No exceptions. For use and for our son. Hair washed every 2/3 days.

CoCoNoDough · 05/11/2024 12:54

Once a week

It's just always been a part of the bedtime routine for us (dinner bath book bed). If my child had skin problems I'd look into how to manage a skin condition and bath less if needed, but he doesn't.

Georgie743 · 05/11/2024 12:55

9 year old has a quick shower almost every day. Perhaps skips a day occasionally at the weekend. Lots of 9 year olds already have stinky pits!

Wtf is the point of this message? People will bath their children how often THEY choose.

I had a bath every day as a child, and shower every day as an adult, and my skin is still going perfectly strong for goodness sake.

Hayley1256 · 05/11/2024 12:56

No I think it damages their skin and hair. My DD8 has a bath or shower every 2/3 days unless she's done something like swimming etc. This will probably change when she's a teen

Kayla84 · 05/11/2024 12:57

Every day from birth. Tbh it's never occurred to me not to. That's how I was raised so know no different. Only time I'd skip is if coming home late and they fell asleep in the car then I wouldn't wake them to shower but just carry up to bed.
