The M and S Sparks card?

girlfriend44 · 01/11/2024 17:15

What is the point of the card, other than them knowing what you buy and when?
I didn't use it today as I don't seem to get anything back?
It's not like you get money off and collect points is it?
Anyone enlighten me as to whether or not it's worth carrying on?
Does anyone benefit from theirs?😥

You get the odd freebie (bakery item for example) and there usually are about 8 or so offers on the app e.g. 10% off skirts.

throwinthetowel · 01/11/2024 17:17

Sometimes the vouchers are good
I used 5 out of 6 last month and got some good savings

hazelnutvanillalatte · 01/11/2024 17:17

They do that lottery thing where you can get your shopping free

marmitegirl01 · 01/11/2024 17:19

I never seem to get the money off vouchers now when they added up the points.
The advent calendar thingy they did last year. Had a couple of decent % off useful things and a few freebies too. Perfume & Christmas cake 👍

Isitfridayyetsophie · 01/11/2024 17:21

I won an £80 shop which I got for free, a few free loaves of bread, cookies, bars of chocolate, Percy pigs etc. I’ve been quite lucky with it I think. I’d prefer points if I’m honest, I shop there regularly so would have accumulated a good amount!

notatinydancer · 01/11/2024 17:23

I've got 20% off bedding at the moment.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 01/11/2024 17:23

IME they give you an offer of money off an item when you have just bought said item. I bought a small suitcase a couple of weeks ago and sure enough my latest Sparks offer gives me 20% off luggage. 🤬

Hatty65 · 01/11/2024 17:24

I've given up on mine, it's utterly useless.

The only thing I really wanted it for was the odd 'free' coffee in the coffee shop, but everytime the woman tried to scan my Sparks card it wouldn't work.

I've never had anything from them. Give me Tesco every time.

Badgerandfox227 · 01/11/2024 17:25

I really dont see the benefits either

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 01/11/2024 17:26

I haven't used mine for ages. Just checked the app and it's giving me £1 off a £7 spend on chicken and 20% off bedding.

TizerorFizz · 01/11/2024 17:27

I get money off when I’ve just bought something too! It’s annoying.

Julen7 · 01/11/2024 17:27

I never even bother with mine. Worst store card ever.

Username917778 · 01/11/2024 17:28

I used to find it quite good but the offers are rubbish now. Just checked and I've got 20% off throws. It's always so random like 10% off kids footwear or women's tights.

loropianalover · 01/11/2024 17:28

Do you not get offers in the app that you can ‘add’ and use? Right now I have a ‘free treat’ (hummus) and 20% off bedding, last week I had 15% off cleaning products and 15% off salads.

Using it also gives you a chance to get your shop for free. They did a daily advent last Xmas too which I hope they do this year.

ThanksItHasPockets · 01/11/2024 17:30

I've got 15% off all clothing, home, and beauty and several 10% offers for the foodhall at the moment.

haribosarebest · 01/11/2024 17:31

I agree, offers recently have been really poor. I do remember with great fondness getting a 1kg jar of Percy pigs a few years ago.... best reward ever! 😂😂

aCatCalledFawkes · 01/11/2024 17:32

If you go there a lot the christmas advent can be good, I got a bottle of light up gin one year. Also the odd freebie and some discounts which can be for the food halls or other stuff in M&S.

TheFlis · 01/11/2024 17:36

I save quite a bit of money with it. I seem to regularly get 20% off clothes, home and beauty and lots of more specific offers (e.g. 20% off socks) so stock up when I get those. I also get several free treats a year.

AffableApple · 01/11/2024 17:37

I have never understood it. Thought it was just me!

mongoliandoll · 01/11/2024 17:37

I stick with it for the online Advent event. I got a room spray 2 years ago (easily pleased!)

FaceLikeACrackedScreen · 01/11/2024 17:38

I think it’s rubbish too, currently £1 off coated poultry, fishcakes and bakes, Chinese meals and 20% off throws for me. The first three would give me indigestion and I don’t need the last one.

Myattention · 01/11/2024 17:38

I’ve got money off bedding. I just want the friends and family 20% off discount back.

DuckBushCityLimit · 01/11/2024 17:39

Just got a freebie offer for my birthday: a punnet of grapes or some chocolate biscuits. Whoop. I'm sure I got chocolate truffles or a bottle of wine in years past.

Jossse · 01/11/2024 17:39

I think it's rubbish. Spent '000's with them and don't even get money off like nectar. Don't use mine anymore. Love M&S but hate their sparks card. Pure rubbish

NeckolasCage · 01/11/2024 17:40

Total waste of time I think - just stupidly complex and weird offers
