To conclude a fun thread I started about ‘stunning’ men can we vote on the marvellous Mr Peck please. He was mentioned over and over and over again by so many of us. Understandably of course. Love to see if it’s ‘official’ 🤣.

I quite like young Frank Sinatra.

Dean Martin for me (at any age). A much nicer person than Frank Sinatra by all accounts and also one of the few people who didn’t kowtow to Sinatra

When I was young I remember my Mum and lovely aunty discussing the merits of Rossano Brazzi and John Kerr in South Pacific, my Mum being a massive admirer of Mr. Brazzi. Both fine looking men.

This fine specimen trumps Peck in my opinion

Yes, until I found out he was a rapist 😒

It’s George Sanders for me. That voice! David Niven as a backup

He was beautiful imo. Seems to have been a decent man too, so far as I know. He died not long before I had my first child. If she'd been a boy I had Gregory picked out as a middle name.

I think he has the most stunning profile. Preferable to Paul Newman but both men I could never have had a chance with 😂

Young Marlon

AutumnalCosiness · 11/10/2024 19:45

Or young Elvis
Or young Rob Lowe

RogerTaylorsdrumstool · 11/10/2024 19:45

Steve McQueen was sex on a stick.
Also Cary Grant was gorgeous

bodydrain · 11/10/2024 19:45

No, Elvis for me

I don't want to derail the thread but google him and Loretta Young.

Gregory Peck is my number one. I’ve loved him since I was a child. To my knowledge nothing seedy has come out about him.

Whereas (sorry to be a party pooper) but Debbie Reynolds describes how repulsed she was by Gene Kelly sticking his tongue down her 17 yo throat in Singing in the Rain. (He was 35) Glad no one has mentioned Kirk Douglas. Some very dark stuff on him.

Were two more beautiful people ever put on screen together?

CostelloJones · 11/10/2024 19:49

For me:

Ultimate swoon: Marlon Brando

Currently living: really have a thing for Henry Golding but also Tom Hardy

Hear me out: King Triton from the Little Mermaid (cartoon)

Whydo123 · 11/10/2024 19:49

Alain Delon in Purple Sky
(though didn’t really age well and had some questionable political views)

bigTillyMint · 11/10/2024 19:49

It’s Paul Newman for me.
Followed by Cary Grant.
And Sidney Poitier

KillingMeDeftIy · 11/10/2024 19:50

Yes @Iknowitsnotmeanttobeeasy, poor Natalie Wood had a rather tragic life.

Carouselfish · 11/10/2024 19:51

Er, Erroll Flynn!!
For me personally, young Orson Welles makes me go quite funny. The voice, eyes, black curls. And middle aged Orson in the Third Man.

bigTillyMint · 11/10/2024 19:51

And TBF I loved Spencer Tracey too 🤣

Definitely not. Both utterly gorgeous and one of my favourite films.

The mocking smile in the doorway in That Scene is really quite something. Not conventionally handsome but magnetic.

I could even waive my hatred of moustaches for Omar Sherif!
