To conclude a fun thread I started about ‘stunning’ men can we vote on the marvellous Mr Peck please. He was mentioned over and over and over again by so many of us. Understandably of course. Love to see if it’s ‘official’ 🤣.

Agree with Gregory Peck. I'd add Jimmy Stewart, James Dean, Laurence Olivier and more recently Johnny Depp who was spectacular looking in his 20s and 30s.

Michael York as D'Artagnon in The Three Musketeers. He could swash my buckle any day.

No. That would be Jeremy Brett but only as Sherlock Holmes. He was quite an unremarkable looking man otherwise but as Sherlock.

Just gorgeous!

I came here to post this! Those cheekbones...that voice! Absolutely beautiful man.

scarfaced · 11/10/2024 20:13

Gregory Peck is well up there but Alain Delon wins every time.

I actually think Sam Neill is still bloody sexy. Watching him now in Apple Never Fall. Any older ladies agree!

Only if you'll agree with me on a middle aged Jeremy Brett 😅

Hedgesgalore · 11/10/2024 20:16

Richard Burton, oh my good grief he was stunning and he had such a lovely twang.

scarfaced · 11/10/2024 20:17

For the uninitiated, I present Alain Delon

How could I forget Denzel? The man you, your mum, your gran and your daughter all agree on!

Honestly read this as 'he had such a lovely wang' and choked on my drink Blush

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 11/10/2024 20:21

I can see the appeal of Gregory Peck.
Sidney Poitier is definitely also on my list.

There's a moment in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" where, having been pursued high up into the mountains, Paul Newman insists their best option is to jump into the water below in order to escape - then Robert Redford admits he can't swim and Paul Newman laughs.... I have always thought in that moment, with his blue eyes shining and his wide smile and the laughter, PN the most handsome man that ever lived!

When I was a kid "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was on TV late one night and my parents let me stay up to watch it, but they told me that was the last scene and sent me to bed before the credits.

It was years before I learned that the film didn't end there.

Not forgetting Montgomery Clift

Gregory Peck is perfection. When people say Tony Curtis all I think of is this Grin

Also Omar Sharif had his moments when I thought he was the most stunning man I’d ever seen.

Oh my, yes. Forget Peter O’Toole!

staceyflack · 11/10/2024 20:36

Jef Bridges is my dish 😍

I had a bit of a crush on James Cagney. For the life of me I don't know why...and Virgil from Thunderbirds.

I hear you! I won a progress prize at school, result a £5 book voucher. Spent it on a James Cagney biography…had a bit of a crush at the time!

Lentilweaver · 11/10/2024 20:37

How could I have forgotten gorgeous Peter O Toole?

Newterm · 11/10/2024 20:40

I’m voting for Robert Mitchum

indignantpigmy · 11/10/2024 20:41

Really surprised Peter O'Toole hasn't been mentioned. Noel Coward said "if he had been any prettier they would have had to call the film Florence of Arabia". He definitely didn't age as well as Paul Newman.

Hadn't heard that before, ha ha

HernameisRio80s · 11/10/2024 20:51

Yes to Paul Newman!

And a younger Liam Neeson for me please.
