To be annoyed at posters on here

I'm getting really annoyed lately at people on here who post threads and then vanish in to thin air. You asked a question people are taking time out of their day to answer you don't be so bloody rude as to ignore everyone. And if it's just trolls mumsnet should be deleting and blocking

I agree, I now scroll down to see if the OP has come back before I bother to read their first post, so many questions left unanswered

It's annoying when the thread has been amicable and the OP disappears.
However it's perfectly understandable in some cases!

I don't agree. Everyone knows the deal with mumsnet especially on aibu. Not everyone is going to agree with you. If you can't handle people not agreeing with you then why post on aibu.

No one is owed a reply by the OP. An OP isn’t owed a response either, but that’s the responder’s own choice to make. You shouldn’t be giving replies to get one back, you should be giving replies because you think you have something useful to bring to someone’s life during a problematic time.

If you want replies for entertainment then you’re being unreasonable.

Not worth getting het up over. It’s just the internet.

I don't need a personal reply but why post then ignore 20 pages of posters offering advice or asking further questions to best help

Because they don’t want to? I don’t think it’s any more complicated or interesting than that and it isn’t worth getting annoyed over.

People not agreeing with the OP is absolutely fine. As you say, it's what you sign up for.
However multiple people being absolute dickheads about it is not ok.

Some people are not in a strong emotional place when they post... That being the nature of needing to reach out to others after all ..

Here you are unhappy at a lack of a reply... No emotional loading there, just an absence of a response ... and it has touched enough of a nerve for you to post about it...
yet you are critical if others are scared off and aren't always able to withstand the blast from the oven door if aibu... when let's face it the level of scathing can be off the charts sometimes!

Strangely hypocritical for you to feel they ought not to ghost a thread cos it bothers you, but should come back and provide answers regardless of what shots have been fired at them.

Yeah I do, this is a forum of only adults I assume so I don't understand why anyone could be that hurt or offended by what strangers online think

Because it's rude. If you ask someone a question in real life do you just walk out the room before the person answers

I feel like you are probably too emotionally involved in people's posts OP, if this is getting to you, you need to step away from MN/the internet.

You have to either not give too much of yourself if it’s a new post or do a quick check to see they came back if it’s older. It’s the internet, what can ya do.

I agree OP, I think MN should just delete a thread after a few days if the OP hasn't come back at all...it just wastes people's time.

I think this is my problem I'm an oversharer and I get invested. It's like someone turning a film of half way through

Here’s a tip. Look where it says OP posts. If it only says “see all” not “see next” there’s only one OP Post.
