I've heard her put on a weird voice and repeatedly say, 20+ times, Scooby Dooby Doo in said weird voice. Turned off and 10 minutes later went into a shop that had Radio 2 on and she was still doing it. FFS she's paid a fortune for that nonsense and we're paying through the licence fee.

What is it with BBC radio presenters… I listen to R1 in the mornings when I’m busy doing things and the number of times I have to stop what I’m doing and turn it off, because Greg James will not stop repeating some unfunny saying, is unfathomable. It’s worse than CBBC most of the time.

She puts on the most annoying babyish voice. I think she does it to make herself seem kind of soft and welcoming but it’s just so cringey.

This

All her Fank oo vay much
Fucking foghorns and wowowowowow

I've moved to greatest hits. Simon mayo is like a warm comfortable blanket

Then back over for Jo Whiley

Vernon has been a revelation. And OJ and ooh Garry Davies are both seriously underused

AutumnLeaves1990 · 10/09/2024 19:15

I don't mind her at all but not keen on the hatched/matched/dispatched segment.

Boysgrownbutstillathome · 10/09/2024 19:47

I enjoy listening to Sara Cox when I drive my son to football training on Friday evenings but when I go to pick him up it's Michelle Visage. I don't like the music she plays, her " Saved by Michelle" songs should stay lost in the past where they belong and why does she only seem interested in her gay listeners?

HelenWheels · 10/09/2024 19:50

oh i liked michael ball at 11 so that is a shame.

I can't listen to her, she does that stupid voice and it gets on my waz. Can't bear Zoe Ball either. Generally awful DJs on R2 these days and except for Johnnie Walker, I no longer listen.

Slothsandspiderman · 10/09/2024 20:12

I love her! She’s funny, kind and compassionate to all her listeners and callers.
My hubby works away a bit, whilst I’m usually run ragged with the kids and dog - I put her on and feel like my mate has popped round for a brew.

abracadabra1980 · 10/09/2024 20:15

Her accent does my head in, as does her irritating articulation on just about anything during her show. How the f do people listen/much so less, like the whole show. I only end up with it as I do late shift at work and it's already on.

RaraRachael · 10/09/2024 20:33

I never got the major love for Ken Bruce so wasn't bothered when he left.
I did enjoy Simon Mayo's show but can't be faffed finding his new station.

Justnevergetsthere · 10/09/2024 21:27

I think she's wonderful. Full of warmth and fun. She has such a natural way with people.

greglet · 10/09/2024 21:33

Oh god I can't stand Jeremy Vine, but mostly it's because I find most members of the public intolerably stupid (I am aware this is unfair) and spend the entire show cringing in anticipation of the next blunder or inanity.

Scammersarescum · 10/09/2024 21:36

Gosh Sara Cox and Lisa Tarbuck getting a kicking this evening.

I wonder what other female celebrity will be next to suffer a barrage of abuse.

If you don't like them don't listen, but it's a good thing we have female presenters.

greengreyblue · 10/09/2024 21:45

I find JV incredibly naive and ignorant at times. He really is a fool at times and it’s not supposed to be a comedy slot.

greengreyblue · 10/09/2024 21:46

Sara is an intelligent woman who likes a laugh and understands her time slot .

FranticFrankie · 10/09/2024 21:47

I really like Spoony- and his voice 😍
Love Rylan
Don’t like Rob Beckett’s show; I miss Paul O’Grady. Loved him
I wish J Vine would let people speak !!

DS gets the rage with the ‘you’re welcome’ song!! He hates it 😄

Bagpuss2022 · 10/09/2024 22:21

I really like her she’s good friends with a family member of mine she’s super down to earth and kind but the accent can be grating and I’m saying that as a fellow Boltonian

I often wonder if people are listening to the same Sara Cox as me - I love her!

And me, I think she’s great and should have got the breakfast show. Also like Vernon Kay and Jo Whiley. My absolute favourite is Liza Tarbuck, I’d imagine she’s a real ‘marmite’ presenter though!

Lovely13 · 10/09/2024 23:01

Not sure what Radio2 is aiming for. Middle of the road, younger/older? They’re not getting it right. Do love a bit of bonkers Jeremy Vine though.

They are annoying, they are also women. They are not annoying because they are women. It's possible to dislike someone without their sex being a factor.

I think most people realise we don't have to listen if we don't like them, but we can still have an opinion. I don't listen to them anymore, but I gave them a go and found them not to my taste. So, I have an opinion.

mids2019 · 10/09/2024 23:33

She is a professional northener......A lot of the brand is having a persona that keeps it real with working class sayings and anecdotes. I remember something of a controversy when it was revealed she came from a middle class family.

To the younger audience she must be like an embarrassing aunt especially with the occasional attempt at little innuendo.

Icebreaker911 · 10/09/2024 23:51

Radio one dance for me - but even on that station certain dj's talk bollo...
Best dj of all time - Steve Wright, hands down :-)

Menopausalmutha · 11/09/2024 00:13

I don’t mind her although I always had a soft spot for Simon Mayo and on balance prefer him. I love Vernon and have never understood the appeal of Ken Bruce. Found him really irritating and smug and much prefer Vernon.
I am with you all re Zoe though. I never listen in the mornings. I actually think she’s really good on telly but hugely over compensates on the radio.

greengreyblue · 11/09/2024 06:52

@Menopausalmutha Simon Mayo still does the same show on Greatest Hits radio.

pompeydad · 11/09/2024 08:46
