Sara Cox please just stop!!!

I've heard her put on a weird voice and repeatedly say, 20+ times, Scooby Dooby Doo in said weird voice. Turned off and 10 minutes later went into a shop that had Radio 2 on and she was still doing it. FFS she's paid a fortune for that nonsense and we're paying through the licence fee.

RTFT. I've mentioned several times this was intended to be a moan about the presentation style which I find childish. Not about women. I am one myself. I can't speak for other posters however. @KittyBeebee Thanks you got it in one

@Anisty @MaryBeardsShoes I've no problem with the accent and never said anything about it. It's the content of what's said and how it's said (fake voice at times, constant repetition of the same thing), and as someone else said, fankoovaymuch and other twisting of words. It's a drive time show, it's not Playaway or Cbeebies.

She talks to the listeners like they're children - drives me mad! Although Scott Mills also does my head in so maybe i just need to switch radio stations in the morning 😂

Agree with this. Rylan and Dermot O'Leary are good with callers too. Scott Mills on the other hand could not sound less interested in people if he tried (unless they're famous and he fawns all over them). He'll ask a listener a question, they answer and it's like tumbleweed waiting for him to show any interest in what they've said. Most of the time he doesn't even bother and just carries on talking.

Yes agree about Rylan and Dermot. Gary Davies is also awful with the callers, asks them a question about themselves then is so dismissive and uninterested in the answer - painful to listen to. I found Ken Bruce the same.

What was meant to be so marvellous about Ken Bruce that there was so much weeping and wailing at his departure?

I'm afraid I wasn't that keen on Steve Wright either. I liked him on Radio 1 in my youth and the Ask Elvis, Old Woman stuff was funny to begin with but I felt it got a bit tired. I didn't like Sunday Love Songs as I hate that type of music so still don't like it even with Michael Ball.

I'm with you on all of that but I did like Steve Wright. Ken Bruce, not fussed as I only listened to Popmaster. I watch it on the TV but I've never listened to Ken Bruce since he left R2.

Ah I love Radio 2 and it's hosts.. and Sarah and Zoe are my faves. Currently missing Zoe but relieved they put Scott Mills in her place instead of Gabby Roslin who was covering Zoe's initial bereavement.... blimey.. now SHE is awful on the radio IMHO. Used to like her on tv but radio... no.. she's manages to achieve being very boring in a totally false, over-enthusiastic way. Quite an achievement I guess!

Re Zoe and "Zo".. people text into the show calling her "Zo"... I have a friend called Zoe who lots of us call Zo. Of all the things to be annoyed about, I have to say this does seem very insignificant.

I really like Sarah Cox's crazy, casual radio persona.. complete with mad voices.. I guess it's my humour.. and I suppose it comes down to, if you don't like the hosts.. tune into something else! 🤷‍♀️

This is why and how women constantly get silenced. 'I don't like her voice' 'I don't like what she says' blah blah. Just celebrate a woman making it into a male dominated world and be happy she's there. They wouldn't have been 75 years ago!

AND Sara Cox. I like her northern accent ( and I'm a southerner). Not so fond of Zoe as I think she gushes over her guests too much. Scott has done a really good job in the breakfast slot. Can't stand Liza Tarbuck, in my opinion she sounds too smug and pleased with herself. I also can't stand Elaine Paige or Paddy McGuiness. I think he puts his accent on.

I like listening to Sara, she makes me smile and is kind to her callers. Like Vernon too.

I don't like show tunes out of context so I'm not a fan of this show.

I kept listening to radio two for years all because of ken bruce and pop master.
I liked his sarcastic wit.
I followed him over to greatest hits but that's dire and too many adverts.
Then I gave vernon a chance and absolutely love him.
I do find Sara all a bit much on a 3hr show.
Funny in parts and then I get a headache and have to turn off 🙃

Yeah but she had to take 3 hrs as Scott isn’t good enough to cover Steve’s slot in full.

My husband detests Scott Mills and we have to find another station if we are in the car together. I tolerate him but imo he is the least impressive dj radio 2 have. He has limited personality - utterly boring. I don't know why they wanted him so badly. Remember Steve Wright used to do 2 til 5 and they got Sarah to do another hour as he would only do 2 til 4? It is a complete mystery to me.
