Sara Cox please just stop!!!

I've heard her put on a weird voice and repeatedly say, 20+ times, Scooby Dooby Doo in said weird voice. Turned off and 10 minutes later went into a shop that had Radio 2 on and she was still doing it. FFS she's paid a fortune for that nonsense and we're paying through the licence fee.

You didn't quote me but I'm down south in Portsmouth and Sara Cox's voice is so annoying, same as Vernon Kay and anyone from Essex.

I was listening to Johnnie Walker the other day and the difference between him and the new breed of infantilising Radio 2 DJs is night and day. Treats listeners with respect and just brings a touch of class to the proceedings.

Oh, and I'm in Scotland so you all sound southern to me

One of my favourite programmes is Rev Kate Botley and Jason Mohammed on a Sunday morning. Such a lovely programme.

Yes, was listening during car journey. There was one caller she handled particularly well.

Tom was the person who was running from John o’Groats to Lands End (or the other way round) to raise money for two charities. He was running by himself, 30 miles a day. His mum encouraged you to support him, by waving if you see him, or tooting your car horns (and sponsoring him).

Oh yes, I remember his mum speaking now. I did wonder how people do these amazing things and yet it doesn't even make the news! Presumably it's on the local news (hopefully!)

The dad who said he couldn't live without his kids (who were actually adults) seemed odd to me! Something didn't seem quite right there!

Don't like Zoe and her attendance is shocking ( not just about her mother dying but long before), if she was in a normal job, I'm sure she would be managed out!

I'll never understand these threads on Mumsnet just to tell us how much you hate a female celeb, of course some people will agree with you, others won't, you'll have some who are way too cool to listen to r2, some who will 'have to Google' (it's best when it's someone huge like TS)

I like Sara cox, she's down to earth, was very open about how she struggled to work after having kids, if fine to not like someone but just a bit shitty all this 'come over here and slag this woman off' thing. So much for supporting other women.

Exactly this. Sara Cox has got me through many
a gloomy car journey from CAMHs with a glowering teenager in headphones next me. It’s such a lovely show, comforting, realistic with good music. I love her voice, humour, anecdotes and the way she follows her own style. She’s one of very few celebs I think are probably really lovely in RL too.

Lisa Tarbuck I love on long evening journeys and my husband will often put her on to cook alongside. Reminds me of home and she just makes me laugh and I even enjoy her qwerky music choices too.

Didn't realise how much I’ve grown to like Zoe Ball too until she was off recently. She is part of my morning commute and I can’t put my finger on why.She plays good music, is a good interviewer and I just like her realism, anecdotes and positivity to start the day.

All 3 have had hate threads. Why do women do this to other women? They are carving their way, bringing their own styles and make Radio 2 far less dull.

@herecomesautumn the thread was started to discuss how terrible the OP thinks Sara Cox is though, not other people. I see supporting as not using a public forum to do so, especially one where the person in question is target audience (you know a woman, a mum) it's just shitty. Aside why not support other women, it's a man's world let's at least not knock each other down!

I don't hate Sara Cox. I find her presentation on the radio irritating in parts. I caught some of her show the other day by accident and it was fine. Though she did do the Scooby doo thing once...

I don't know Sara Cox to hate her. I'd probably like her as a person or a mate but I don't like listening to her show.

What has it to do with her being a woman? Where have I said anything about that? Why should I pretend I like her show because she's female? I'd say the same about a man. I didn't listen to Terry Wogan because I found him not to my taste too. I don't actually think she needs my"support " either.

So don’t listen to her show then. There is no need to start a nasty thread over a scooby do voice and very little else.

Others do like her. Her show is very popular hence your license fee going towards her wages.

Why do you assume I wanted people to agree with me? You're being far nastier to me, another woman, than I am about Sara Cox on the radio! A thread is to discuss something and a discussion covers varying points of view.
