Sainsburys Toilets

I have no words to describe the toilets in Sainsbury's.
I walked in and the smell was disgusting, I try to avoid but in general I think why shouldn't a big Supermarket have clean toilets! So maybe every other month or at stations I use public toilets.
Anyway I walk into the 2nd cubicle surprised there is only two for a large store in a small popular city..
The toilet was clean I suppose but to the corner of my eye I couldn't help but see the open toilet brush and it was stuff out of nightmares. 😫
I was almost in shock and after 10 seconds thought no I can't use the toilet.
I wasn't quite at the absolutely desperate stage. But even so the fucking smell!!!
Afterwards I could barely walk round the store to get the minimum I needed.
Yuk yuk 😷 🤢 🤮
SAINSBURY'S toilets need burning down. The taps to the toilets to the doors going into. Gross.

Yes the one that used to be local to us (South East) was often minging. I don't know why Sainsburys should be any worse than any other supermarket though.

Thistooshallpass24 · 25/08/2024 22:21

Surely it's the grim individual who leaves toilets in that state that you should be annoyed with? I dont understand how public toilets get so rank, if you wouldn't wee/poo on the floor, wall (or God knows where else) at home why would you in a public toilet?

madnessitellyou · 25/08/2024 22:26

Every single supermarket toilet I go into seems to be completely revolting.

I really do not know what the matter is with some people.

Sleepyquest · 25/08/2024 22:28

Our local Sainsbury's store toilets always smell foul and are filthy. The disabled toilet is often out of order too. It's a very well used store so surely they could get them sorted?

hereismydog · 25/08/2024 22:30

There was shit all over the floor in the last Sainsbury’s toilet I tried to use!

Aquarius1234 · 25/08/2024 22:31

They are disgusting and small and no ventilation.
It might help spending money on better facilities so people don't think they have the right to treat them terribly.
I mean a grade up nothing special. Proper working taps with proper soap. And decent dryers.
Working handles and an entrance door that isn't horrible.

I always think if the sinks are good with taps and paper towels and bins also that helps a lot.

To think there is fresh food in the stores. Ewwwe.

I used to take my kids out of our local Sainsbury's to pee in the travel potty in the car rather than use their nasty ass toilets. Tescos are usually ok, and Waitrose/Morrisons tend to be pretty decent. No idea why Sainsbury's is always so grim.

Now they're beyond that stage my son calls them "the sit-down loos" because I won't let him lift the seat to pee 🤣

Asda is the worst in our area. The stench is horrific. Always filthy. Feel so grim after using them. They are all pretty gross though. I'd say Morrisons is probably the best.

Recently visited a Tesco in another town and only the disabled toilet was available. There was a massive queue, piss all over the floor and the toilet was filthy. I had my toddler with me and desperately tried to make sure she wasn't touching anything while I navigated the puddle on the floor and tried not to puke from the smell. I've never complained about toilets before but I did on that occasion.

IDontLoveTheWayYouLie · 25/08/2024 22:42

Our sainsburys toilets are the same. The lifts are near it and you can get a whiff anytime the doors open or you use the tills at the bottom end of the shop.

I'd rather piss myself then actually go in there and use them so god knows what they actually look like.

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 25/08/2024 22:47

It's them automatic hand wash things in Tesco that I hate.

Usually they have no soap in, the water trickles out and the hand dryer is ineffective at actually drying your hands.

No idea why they removed perfectly good sinks and soap dispensers that were easier to wash your hands in, and those super fast dryers that dry your hands in seconds.

JSMill · 25/08/2024 22:51

It's the same in our local Sainsbury's. I have to be absolutely desperate to go. Waitrose is immaculate.

TheBeardedClown · 25/08/2024 22:52

The toilets in my local Tesco always look reasonably clean but the stench is horrific! And the House of Fraser toilets always smell of blocked drains and poo. I only use them if wetting myself is the only alternative.

Dotto · 25/08/2024 22:55

Our sainsburys is fine, our Tesco is immaculate. Did you report it?

gretathegremlin · 25/08/2024 22:56

The big Sainsburys a couple of miles from us always have very clean and hygienic looking toilets.

The smaller (still a full size supermarket, not a central, but smaller building) Sainsburys just up the road has unspeakable toilets.

I went in there once a few years back and there was congealed puke down the back. Looked like it had been there a while and the staff looked quite surprised when I mentioned it. Probably knew and nobody wanted to deal with it (and I don't blame them).

They got a bit better for a while but the entire toilet area has been sealed off for months now.

JC03745 · 25/08/2024 22:57

Strangely, I can't recall ever seeing a toilet brush in a supermarket toilet! 🤔
Maybe the stench blurred my vision.

Remagirl · 25/08/2024 22:59

Our local Sainsbury's toilets are disgraceful too. I complained a few months back but nothings changed. The local public toilets are cleaner.

iggleoggle · 25/08/2024 23:00

I’m quite nostalgic about a certain set of toilets in a Sainsbury’s near me; it’s where I did a pregnancy test. After well over two years of trying a second child, that’s where I first found out about DC2.

HarryBlackberry1 · 25/08/2024 23:03

No word of a lie, the last Sainsburys toilet I went to, I stood in a human shit that someone had left on the floor. Revolting 🤮

I did DS2s pregnancy test in Liverpool M&S toilets in 2007 - very clean surroundings! Can’t remember why I didn’t wait until I got home though.

Aquarius1234 · 25/08/2024 23:18

M&S in the clothes department have a nasty smell but in a different way.
Some restaurants that have unisex toilets are disgusting. Five Guys ewwwwwwe
Often nice little proper restaurants massively let themselves down with a disgusting small toilet. Can ruin the whole evening.
It's the wee over the seat and floor that's horrible.
It would be better to have public toilets outside the shops in stone buildings with windows and proper cleaners.
Sainsburys are dire at never updating stores.

Edited

Our Tesco was great until they introduced the stupid 'all in one' soap/wash/dry units. Absolutely hate them!

Crikeyalmighty · 25/08/2024 23:56

It's a big thing I miss about Denmark- never once did I encounter grim toilets - and the public ones in the centre had marble walls , walnut doors , heating and a permanent attendant and were absolutely immaculate
