Splashing people in the pool?

I saw a video where a woman was posing on some pool steps, she was about knee high in the water and her friend was taking photos.

This man purposely cannonballs into the water and soaks her and she visibly pissed off. All the comments are laughing saying she deserved it, they hate influencers (no evidence she’s an influencer) and that “not all hero’s wear capes”, it’s a public pool and she should expect to get wet.

Aibu to just not find it funny?

I'd find it funny.. it's sounds funny and I've just laughed.. who takes their phone into a public swimming pool?

AhBiscuits · 24/07/2024 19:07

Meh. He was an arse but I can't get worked up about getting splashed in a swimming pool.

AhBiscuits · 24/07/2024 19:07

Probably got her a lot more likes and shares than she otherwise would have got. I bet she's glad he did.

Sisterdeloris · 24/07/2024 19:09

Quite an old clip. The guy was a douche but he was obviously fed up with the Insta generation.

Well I’m guessing it was his mate filming it so it wasn’t her video to post

Should have been more specific, it was a hotel outdoor pool.

It’s a pool there is a high chance you are going to get wet.

ButWhatAboutTheBees · 24/07/2024 19:24

Posing on the pools steps is almost definitely for the likes

PumpkinPie2016 · 24/07/2024 19:32

Splashing someone on purpose is a bit arsey. That said, if you are in a pool, you have to accept you may get wet!

What irks me more than anything is when people get splashed/sprayed accidently and then complain about it!!

DH once went to lane swim and was swimming butterfly - as he brought his arms up and over, some spray went on two older ladies hair and they had the nerve to complain 🙄 I just don't get it - you're in a swimming pool, it's wet!

Last year on holiday, my 9 year old son was playing with his dive ring in the pool. He is a good swimmer and does, in fairness, have a powerful kick for his age. He swam under to get his ring, and as he kicked, some spray went on a man's back - he starts tutting and shaking his head!

AbraAbraCadabra · 24/07/2024 19:34

She shouldn't have been posing about on the pool steps, taking pictures. I certainly don't want to be in anyone's pictures when partially dressed in swimwear or changing (if it's that type of pool). I was getting changed on the beach the other day and some person walked directly passed me videoing themselves. I was really upset. There's one thing a couple of people on the beach catching a glimpse, it's completely another having that plastered all over the internet for everyone to laugh at. Also a potential safeguarding issue re children. It also means that anyone who wants to avoid being in a picture or video has to avoid that area of the pool or anywhere behind you for an extended period while you are fucking about taking pictures. So I don't think people should be doing this around a pool.

Having said that the dive bombing was also a dick move and two wrongs don't make a right!

Anewuser · 24/07/2024 19:37

I accept you mentioned it was a hotel pool but I’m surprised they’re even allowed to take photos/videos. I thought most places banned photography?

WalkingonWheels · 24/07/2024 19:41

Sounds like another arsehole man trying to exert his superiority over a woman again. In the same vein as driving through a puddle on purpose when someone is walking by.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/07/2024 19:44

I saw this. Ridiculous woman posing in an outfit blocking the stairs for ages - leaning over, constant pictures

Really fucking annoying look at me behaviour - all drapey kaftan being thrown over the head while she stairs into space

Bloke walks round to the other side of the pool and dive bombs in

She gets wet and turns round and gives him the finger

I hate blokes, she still deserved it

LaurieFairyCake · 24/07/2024 19:44

Stares

LaurieFairyCake · 24/07/2024 19:45

I mean I hate blokes but hate influencers even more

Twats

Whammyammy · 24/07/2024 19:48

Imagine getting wet in a swimming pool?

StaunchMomma · 24/07/2024 19:59

I have to admit I hate this, mostly because I wear glasses and can't have contacts so am forced to wear them in the pool.

Of course, I expect a few drops to fling about, but pretty often it's just other people's kids splashing or even adults with water guns shooting across the pool (I'm looking at you Center Parcs Lazy River!).

It is what it is, though. If you go to a shared pool you have to expect it.

I would assume a grown adult cannonballing was a twunt, though.

needtonamechangeforthis1 · 24/07/2024 20:04

Don't care what the woman was doing. Jumping in deliberately splashing people without knowing they are happy to be splashed is just plain nasty.

Equally so anyone laughing.

I absolutely hate being splashed like that! Disgusting behaviour.

Anyone doing so at our pool would be asked to leave and not return.

thursdaymurderclub · 24/07/2024 20:07

So who posted the video? The lady on the steps or whoever cannonballed into the pool..

Either way... both were probably staged!

Influencers are a pain.. on a recent holiday a couple of influencers took over the rooftop pool for an hour while they got their content.. in the end of group of lads decided to play with a rugby ball In the pool and disrupt them too the applause of all those sitting waiting to use the pool

sanogo · 24/07/2024 20:22

I saw it on Reddit a few days ago

Bit cunty

DoreenonTill8 · 24/07/2024 20:26

Her costume wasn't probably a swimming costume... I've seen ones advertised that actually say 'do not get wet' they're for the posing insta-desperados seeking to get into love Island or something!

Ereyraa · 24/07/2024 20:27

If it was an influencer or some self-obsessed dimlo taking millions of up-themselves posed photos, good on him.

I hate the narcissist selfie generation. Pool steps are for getting in and out of, not posing for photos which no one wants to see anyways

DoreenonTill8 · 24/07/2024 20:31

Like these ones... 'pool side posing only'🤮

Splashing people in the pool?
Growlybear83 · 24/07/2024 20:33

Why would anyone want to pose for a photo getting into a swimming pool? That's just really weird.

otravezempezamos · 24/07/2024 20:33

Immature but hilarious
