How much do you pay for wraparound care? I’m panicking

Lone parent, no help, going to have to pay for wraparound care from as early as possible and late as possible. Does anyone know what this costs roughly? I have enquired at a couple of schools but they refused to discuss costs unless I was considering the school and had applied or looked round etc and I didn’t want to lie! Dc is only 3 but I am so worried about what’s to come

Whereabouts in the country?

Yorkshire:
Breakfast Club from 8am= £2.50
AsC until 5.30pm (5pm Fridays) = £5.

Its run in house so cheap. Unfortunately its not usually that cheap...

Southeast BC £6, ASC £11

But remember you can pay 20% less if you sign up to tax free childcare

About £20 per day for 8-6 and then it’s roughly £50/55 per day 8-6 for the school holidays. In Surrey.

Breakfast Club is £7.50, ASC £12.50

But we are in quite an expensive part of the country

Ours is £6.00 for breakfast club and £12.00 for after school club. Not cheap, but needed!

It varies massively. Even within an area - people I know are shocked how much ours is, yet they are not far and have much cheaper wraparound.

Our school has its own breakfast club which charges 60p from 8.30 and nothing afterschool.

But the wraparound care is a separate private company on school premises. £7.75 from 7.45 before school. After school is £13.75 until 4.30, £14.75 until 6.00.

We’re in Cheshire.

Ours is £4.50 for breakfast club which opens at 7.45 then it’s £10.50 for after school club until 5.45, that’s in the Midlands.

I’d try posting in local FB groups and asking about pricing for the schools you’re interested in.

Why are you panicking though? Are you not paying for nursery at the moment anyway?

South east. about £20 a day for breakfast club and aftershool until 6 I think. split about 6/14.

Breakfast club is 8am till 8.50am - £6

£10 a day if I use bc and asc. Drop off at 7.45 and collect at 5.30

the more concerning thing for us is there's so few places at most schools. people can be on waiting lists for years.

North East £6.50 for morning and £6.50 for after school up to 5.30.

South London, not posh area, breakfast club £2, ASC until 6 £10. Tax free childcare makes it less 20%. It's run in house, they get a light tea.

I think breakfast club is about £7 here (from 0730), after school club £17 to 1830. Works out at £25 per child per day. Waiting list of 2-3 years for after school club and virtually no childminders locally either that cover the school. We’re Home Counties commuter belt.

Midlands here, breakfast club is free and after school is £11 an hour.

Outer London Borough, £7.50 for Breakfast Club (7:45am) and £14 for After School Club (to 6pm).

Breakfast club free. Afterschool club £20 per session, latest pick up 6pm. Shocked to see how expensive this is in comparison to others.

This months bill for 5 days breakfast club (8am-8.40am) and 5 days after school club (3.30-6pm) was £270 so around £67.50 a week. We get a slight discount for being 5 days and use tax free child care so 'real time cost' is around £220 a month/£55 a week.

My DS goes to breakfast and after school club every day and our bill at most is about £270 a month. No charges for half terms or bank holidays and we have continued to use our tax free childcare allowance that we used when he was at nursery

And people say, ‘your prices go down when they start school’

Some of these would be £400 a month! How do people do it? Especially if you’ve then got a younger one in full time nursery
