How often do you hoover your stairs?

Boring question alert🚨

I probably do it once every 2 weeks. Have a cordless Shark but still too cumbersome/annoying a job.

We have a dog. Hoover daily downstairs but can never muster the strength do stairs that often.

Daily or every other day.

GeckoFeet · 01/06/2024 14:46

Once every 2 months

Sunnysummer24 · 01/06/2024 14:47

Very few days with small hand held dyson takes 5 mins, maybe less.

Iwrotethelyricstoaxlf · 01/06/2024 14:47

Not enough. It’s a rubbish job.

Universalsnail · 01/06/2024 14:48

About twice a week. Would do it atleast every other day if I had a dog that shreds

Elodea · 01/06/2024 14:48

Once a month if they're lucky. We don't have a dog and I loathe vacuuming.

RobinEllacotStrike · 01/06/2024 14:50

Not often.

Though I think about it every time I use them 🤓

Holidaaaaay · 01/06/2024 14:51

Every couple of days

NoSquirrels · 01/06/2024 14:51

I hate and detest hoovering the stairs, no matter the tools, so ‘not enough’ is all I can tell you. ‘When it’s desperate’ might be another answer. And we have more than one set of stairs. I have a dog (downstairs only) and cats (furry carpet shredding bastards). I regularly consider hoovering them, though.

PartnersInCrime · 01/06/2024 14:51

Once a week. Pet and shoe free house.

grumpygrape · 01/06/2024 14:53

When they need doing ?

NoSquirrels · 01/06/2024 14:54

It’s almost worth moving to a bungalow.

I only discovered my hatred of hoovering stairs when we moved to a townhouse when I was pregnant with DC1. Before that we lived in flats, and my childhood home had open wooden treads so no hoovering required.

I actually hate all hoovering, it gives me the rage, but robot hoovers are a joy. Just alas, they cannot do stairs.

FunkyMonks · 01/06/2024 14:56

Daily or every other day I have two kids and a cat so I hover daily in my house.

Octavia64 · 01/06/2024 14:56

About once a month. More if visitors.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 01/06/2024 14:57

Once a week, downstairs gets the robot hoover daily and a proper vac once a week, upstairs and stairs get done once a week. We don't have a dog though

dutysuite · 01/06/2024 14:58

I used to do it every day but I have a shark vacuum and it’s SO heavy and really difficult to use on the stars, so I don’t do them often enough at the moment.

CerealPonderer · 01/06/2024 14:58

‘When it’s desperate’ might be another answer

Ha, same. It's definitely the most neglected, un-hoovered space in the entire house.

Usernamewassavedsuccessfully · 01/06/2024 15:00

All the bloody time. I could knit a new cat with the amount my two shed and the stairs is one of their favourite hang out places.

Accbabymom1994 · 01/06/2024 15:00

Every I do it every 2 days lol

BobnLen · 01/06/2024 15:00

Every week or two same as rest of the house.

GallopingGhost · 01/06/2024 15:00

Zero. No point in hoovering because we have small pets in the house and the hoover doesn't pick up the hay.

I use a rubber dustpan and brush a couple of times a week, which isn't enough but will have to do.

OneTC · 01/06/2024 15:01

Never ever

thanKyouaIMee · 01/06/2024 15:01

Weekly with the hoover, maybe monthly with the carpet washer machine (an amazing invention!). I also use one of those carpet scrapers for the pet hair, it's fantastic

Simonjt · 01/06/2024 15:04

We have wooden stairs, so we just dust them, I’ve never lived with somewhere with stairs before, so I’ve never lived anywhere with carpeted stairs.

EmpressSoleil · 01/06/2024 15:06

Nowhere near enough. I live in a conversion so there's a full flight of stairs plus two half flights, so it's a big job. I also have 2 hairy shedding cats. I do not have a cordless vacuum. I have the shark lift away one but its still a pain.

I bought a little handheld vacuum off amazon thinking that would help but it's not really powerful enough.

Realistically I should probably be doing them every day but I don't have the time or the motivation!
