How often do you hoover your stairs?

Boring question alert🚨

I probably do it once every 2 weeks. Have a cordless Shark but still too cumbersome/annoying a job.

We have a dog. Hoover daily downstairs but can never muster the strength do stairs that often.

Once a week. Alternate weeks with a vacuum and stiff brush. The stiff brush really does work well on carpets. It is just the 2 of us and we don’t have pets

Giggorata · 01/06/2024 17:19

Weekly. No shoes or dogs upstairs.

RomanRoysSearchHistory · 01/06/2024 17:21

Not as often as I should, but I "rubber glove" them weekly to get all the visible hair and bits up.

KnickerlessParsons · 01/06/2024 17:31

I brush them with a silicone brush about once a week.

LadyMacbethWasMisunderstood · 01/06/2024 17:33

Once a week.

Netcam · 01/06/2024 17:35

Every 2 weeks. DH does it along with our shared home office. I hoover the rest every 2 weeks and mop the kitchen floor once a week.

Iamthemoom · 01/06/2024 17:39

Wooden stairs, 2 sets, hoovered and washed weekly. Carpeted set to attic rooms hoovered weekly.

TribeofFfive · 01/06/2024 17:41

Every other day

Itiswhysofew · 01/06/2024 17:42

I've got 3 x flights off stairs and one of them'll hoovered once a week. The first flight probably twice a week.

Starlightstarbright3 · 01/06/2024 17:51

Oh god probably about once a month I hoover the bottom few stairs more regularly .

it is the irrational worst hated job . I avoid it as much as i possibly can .

Sallyh87 · 01/06/2024 17:54

Almost never.

Chely · 01/06/2024 17:55

Most days as they get messy. I lift the whole corded thing to utilise brush bar, the hose alone is not good enough for the grime our kids produce.

MinervaMcGonagallsCat · 01/06/2024 18:01

Every couple of weeks.

I have a job and hobbies so no time to be doing this daily

Nopetynope · 01/06/2024 18:03

About twice a year ! Great striped carpet that doesn’t show any marks .

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 01/06/2024 18:09

This is what is needed. I think it would make things a bit easier.

How often do you hoover your stairs?
Lellochip · 01/06/2024 18:18

For those with hairy pets & heavy vacuums - try a squeegee! Perfect stair size, gets in the corners, can just pick up the little ball of fluff you collect

SallyWD · 01/06/2024 18:23

We have a cleaner once a week and she does it. I don't do it unless they get unusually dirty.

Justleaveitblankthen · 01/06/2024 18:58

Between fortnightly and monthly. Lug my Henry about.
Multiple pets/ shoes on but dark grey patterned carpet covers a multitude of sins 😁

Not enough. It’s a rubbish job.

This.

maddiemookins16mum · 01/06/2024 19:58

Every Wednesday and Saturday but we also have a scrapey thing that collect cat hair so I use that on the odd day inbetween.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 01/06/2024 20:00

Once a week.

weegiemum · 01/06/2024 20:02

Only done by the cleaner. Once a week.

Runssometimes · 01/06/2024 20:08

Personally never, or maybe once a year. Nag DH to do it every week, gets done maybe every two weeks. It’s the most hateful job.

cointos · 01/06/2024 20:10

Once or twice a week, sometimes every other day. We have a robot vacuum for the flat surfaces so hoovering isn't the awful task it once was. Also we have cats who keep dragging crap in from the garden on their bushy tails.

maw1681 · 01/06/2024 20:22

Weekly ideally, I have a dog
