Eamonn Holmes -reap what you sow

Just want to say that I love Eamonn Holmes so it's not a bashing thread. Just an observation.

I was thinking about his ex wife and children. He left his young family as his career was more important.
He met (allegedly after they split) this beautiful younger attractive exciting Ruth. Got with her.
But now what does he have? He has ailing health and no wife to be with him in sickness and in health?
Who knows if he had made an effort and put his first family first rather than his career he could have been with someone who would have loved and cared for him in his old age.

It's quite sad.

Friendly and empathetic? Nit from where I stand going by what he has said about Meghan. He's like that Top Gear man whose name I intentionally forget.

Yes the OP has some weird agenda. There was no affair. Ruth was not some much younger woman. The OP seems to be reflecting some personal experience onto this couple

I didn't say it was an affair. I said 'allegedly'.
At the time they got together there was a lot of speculation about when he actually got with her.

That's why I said 'allegedly' as they 'alledge' they got together at a certain time but the press at the time said different things.

This is such bollocks. They were together for two years before anyone knew. Which was still well after he split with his wife. Because he was being respectful to his ex he didn't hold Roths hand in public for a long time. etc. she said she liked his integrity. It made her love him more.

Just came on to say I met him in a work capacity about 15 years ago and he is the nicest guy ever. I don’t know what’s happened with he and Ruth (I’m off to Google) but I was super shocked at what a thoroughly lovely man he was. She on the other hand was not so pleasant.

@BirthdayRainbow ok. That is obviously what they would say.
But at the time when it was reported in the press, there was ambiguity at when they actually got together.
As you are probably very aware people don't always tell the truth when they have an image to protect and this was over 15 years ago.

@RosePetalsRose I just remember many years ago when he was on I think it was called good morning britain and i think it was anne diamond at the time, his wife phoned him up on screen, to tell him that she had given birth!!! that disgusted me and since then I cannot look at him on screen!!

I just have to acknowledge this, as it was lost in all the strange infighting.

His ex-wife and family lived in Belfast (still part of the United Kingdom, not Ireland).

A lot of people commute between Belfast and London for work, weekdays office, weekends home.

I lived in the same area as his family and the rumour mill when he left his first wife was that he was having an affair.

Also someone else just mentioned that they lived near his first wife and the rumours were they were having an affair.
