DH hasn't come home

DH went to a concert in a town 40 minutes away this evening. It would have finished about half 10 and he was driving back. I woke up about 40 minutes ago and he's not home. Messenger says he was last seen 2 hours ago and he's not answering his phone. When and who should I start calling? I'm so worried ☹️

Who did he go with? Anyone you can contact?

PoopingAllTheWay · 06/05/2024 01:30

Has he got form? Does he drink / drugs?

NamechangedH · 06/05/2024 01:31

He went on his own.

I know it sounds silly, but his not in another room?

coxesorangepippin · 06/05/2024 01:31

Do you have location on his phone

Josette77 · 06/05/2024 01:33

Is he asleep on the couch maybe?

I'm so sorry. I'd be worried too!

He didn't meet any friends there? When did you talk to him last?

Has he got form? Does he drink / drugs?

No drugs, he drinks but would never drink and drive. I'm thinking/hoping he had a few drinks and decided to get a hotel instead of coming home. So I just have to be cross at him for not thinking to let me know

No I've checked for the car and it's not here, his keys aren't in the drawer where he'd put them and his phone ringing out

NamechangedH · 06/05/2024 01:35

He last messaged me at 10 during the gig

Does he have form for this?

Beandoodle · 06/05/2024 01:41

Are you sure he's on his own??

novocaine4thesoul · 06/05/2024 01:42

It's odd if he has no form. There are tons of logical reasons so please don't think the worst (car broke down, then phone ran out (and believe me they can take 7 hours to come), met a friend and has lost track of time, phone ran out, had drinks, didn't drive) Can you send a message to him on facebook, it shows two blue ticks if picked up. That is if you don't have find my iphone or snapchat map enabled. Police won't be interested in missing person for 24 hr imo (had son that did this continually) although no harm in ringing if you are that worried. HTH x

1sttimemum0 · 06/05/2024 01:47

Hope you hear soon OP

NamechangedH · 06/05/2024 01:47

He doesn't have form but I pretty much leave him to his own devices. He works really anti social hours and often goes away with mates for nights out. I'm guessing he must have just gone for a drink and crashed at a mates or a hotel over there. That's what I'm going to tell myself and try and get some sleep

Thank you, this makes sense. I'm going to try and get some sleep x

Possible scenarios I can think of are:

Car broke down, phone battery died;
Met someone he knew, went for drinks;
Car got stolen, phone battery died;
Cant find car, phone battery died;
Had a drink or two after, asleep in car, didn’t think to phone or phone battery died;
He’s had a drink afterwards and been nicked for being in the car.

I hope you hear from him soon.

novocaine4thesoul · 06/05/2024 01:51

Yes, I think that is what I would do too. Probs a combo of those things plus phone running out and / or thinking you would already be in bed. I'd be doling out a finger wagging in the morning mind 😁

Lotsalotsagiggles · 06/05/2024 02:35

Mudt be so worried

Im sure its all innocent

amyshep · 06/05/2024 03:03

Hope you find him

bloodyplumbing · 06/05/2024 03:05

He'll be gone in the morning! He'd be getting a stern word with!

LuckyMum1989 · 06/05/2024 03:31

I"d be going out of my mind too! Hope you hear soon!!

imgonnalooseit · 06/05/2024 03:37

I'd be the same
OP hope you hear soon xxx

Thunderpants88 · 06/05/2024 03:46

Your are not bein unreasonable to be worried. There was a post a few months ago and someone had this situation. It turned out her husband had been arrested for drink driving. However this is a worst case scenario and as others have said your DH most likely made a sensible decision to stay at a friends house and a few drinks and the buzz from a concert have made him lose track of time and he’s fallen asleep. In the UK tomorrow is a bank holiday so maybe he knows there is no pressure to be at work and he’s made the most of it.

I would be annoyed and address the face he hasn’t told you when he’s home and sobered up though

ineedtostopbeingdramaticfirst · 06/05/2024 03:49

As you say hopefully he's met friends and slept at someone's house.
