Two men, one 20s other indeterminate age 50ish, could have had a hard paper round, got on my bus, every other word F. Older guy wants plenty of legroom to "stretch the fuckers". They're just legs fgs. He's got phone wallpaper that says "I identify as a cunt". I think they're pointless.

A ‘hard paper round’?

A ‘hard paper round’?

Meaning he looks very rough and could be much younger than he looks.

Oh well

Sound harmless... people are people

But your OP doesn't make much sense?

RaininSummer · 26/04/2024 19:45

Low lives. They are everywhere.

Yeah. Pointless post. I mean, here on mumsnet no one swears do they!

vodkaredbullgirl · 26/04/2024 19:47

How dare they

LadyKenya · 26/04/2024 19:47

They probably are not giving you a second thought meanwhile.

Oh, ok, I thought it was a metaphor for something!😀

DonnaBanana · 26/04/2024 20:00

They are enjoying themselves and using the natural dialect of their class and culture, not bothering you, keep your sticky beak on your own biz

missmollygreen · 26/04/2024 20:05

What makes you better than them?

Which class and culture is us that then? Ignorant foul mouth class who should learn to watch their language in public. Not a great example for children to hear on the bus is it?

XenoBitch · 26/04/2024 20:13

YABU to give a shit what other people have as their phone wallpaper.

tuvamoodyson · 26/04/2024 20:15

I’m with you OP, I absolutely detest swearing, we’re clearly in the minority though 🤷‍♀️

RaininSummer · 26/04/2024 20:18

I swear a fair bit bit there is a time and a place for it.

Well yes when cross or whatever bus calling your own legs the fuckers is ridiculous. Unless he needs a knee replacement or something I guess!

I’m sure he’d find a few things that you say ‘ridiculous’ and ‘pointless’ also.

That's probably true. And I don't give a 🙈🙈🙈 what a foul mouthed pair of tattooed chavs think about me as I don't identify as a CU Next Tuesday. I'll try and get his number for you next time I see him as you seem to think he's just a nice guy!

I agree it sounds awful . I don’t understand the point of it . I know someone who puts an expletive in from of every noun. The sentence takes twice as long. I think they should save the swearing for when they actually need the lalochezia.

It was everyone on the bus's "biz". They were bothering everybody gobbing off so loudly, taking up two seats apiece with their manspreading and being themselves. No other passengers were enjoying themselves.

I have no idea if he’s a nice guy based on whether he is a bit sweary. You, however are not giving the impression of being a nice person through your condescension and open contempt for other people. You’re literally calling other people ‘pointless’, I’d say that’s the epitome of ‘not nice’.

What makes them low lives?
Did OP say they attacking anyone? Vandalising anything? Openly watching porn in public? Being verbally abusive? Torturing animals?
No. They were minding their own business on the bus, unlike OP who was nosying over their shoulders to look at their screens.

Swearing is just words.

JMSA · 27/04/2024 09:33

Ugh. They sound awful. I swear lots but never in public. They're totally uncouth.

Changingplace · 27/04/2024 09:35

This is why I always wear headphones on public transport and ignore everyone else, it’s the only way to cope with other people.

I was with you about the excessive swearing - and I have a vocabulary like a sailor - as I think it should be moderated around children.

BUT you lost me “foul mouthed pair of tattooed chavs”. Your attitude is far more offensive to me.

Tattoos are no longer a marker of social class. That’s your prejudice showing.

Chav is a disgusting way to talk about someone who has had less privilege and less opportunity than you.
