To think Tamara Ecclestone is the luckiest woman alive

2 healthy and happy children, adoring husband, lovely relationship with sister, health, all the money in the world. I follow her on instagram and she seems like a lovely mum.

Only slightly jealous that she's constantly taking her children all around the world during school holidays and always going to lovely places constantly. I do wonder why she posts on instagram so much though, surely, it's not like she needs the instagram advertising revenue.

Is she the luckiest woman humanity has ever seen?

I would love to be rich but I absolutely wouldn’t like her life. It’s kind of a waste to be honest..

She travels to exactly the same places and lives the same experiences on a loop. How incredible would it be to show your children the world? I love Disney but there is more world outside of that, Dubai and Switzerland rinse and repeat.

Her show seemed to alude to her having no friends if I remember correctly.

AIBU, I'm going in for surgery on Thurs, iv Friends who just turn up unannounced. Iv asked them not to do this it's ignored. Fast forward, iv 10 month old pup so asked only to visit after op if partner or older kids are home, I can't leave door unlocked incase someone opens it and pup runs out, he's a hound, I can't run after him, also when they come round I'm never out kitchen, coffees, drinks, snacks, sorting stuff for their young kids.

You've posted this on a thread about Tamara Ecclestone.

I remember watching a TV programme about her life. In the basement of her home, she’d had a huge soft play area built for her daughter. But it was giving Poorest Little Rich Girl vibes watching this tiny tot play solo in this enormous kids’ paradise.

I think you can be a tad too rich.

I haven’t trawled through any of her posts. You just recognise regulars who don’t appear to name change. @Comedycook always says the same kind of thing. My vague memory is that she’s got older children, and desperately trying to justify staying at home long past all need to, because she never found a fulfilling job. Always negative about people who find meaning in trying. Actually, if memory serves, the first post I remember by her was about her horror that her DH, I think working from home during Covid, got in the way of her pottering and daytime tv habit. (I could be wrong about the last bit.)

You so have trawled through her posts though, I spend way too much time on here and I don't remember anything about anyone. You might remember people you actually engage with but there's no way you'd remember all that about a random. You're just back tracking to try to avoid looking like an arsehole.

OP I think being comfortable is probably the most enviable position. Being super rich means you have to spend a lot of time watching your back IMO. People want to take what you have, the papers want to pull you down, you have to have security, it's not possible to live a normal life. Her family all seem to be a bit of a dysfunctional mess as well. I doubt her life is all it looks on insta.

Money guarantees neither happiness or misery. All it does is remove certain sources of stress/unhappiness. But the absence of that stress isn't the same thing as happiness. There will be happy wealthy people, and less happy ones - I would wager that the ones seeking validation on Instagram are likely to be in the latter group.

Poverty is truly miserable, but once our needs have been met, humans do not generally become happier through accumulating greater quantities of wealth and possessions - so many studies show this.

Made me think of Holes by Passenger

I know a man with nothing in his hands, nothing but a rolling stone
He told me about when his house burnt down, he lost everything he owned
He lay asleep for six hole weeks, they were gonna ask his mother to choose
When he woke up with nothing he said I'll tell you something
When you've got nothing, you've got nothing to lose
Now I've got a hole in my pocket, a hole in my shirt, a whole lot of trouble, he said
But now the money's gone, life carries on and I miss it like a hole in the head

This lady fell 33,000 feet without an parachute and survived to walk again. I think she’s the luckiest.

In fairness, though, from recognising your name from around Mn, you don’t seem to do a lot other than be a SAHM. Obviously, I assume that’s your preference, but it doesn’t sound as if you know a great deal about other types of lives. You always sound kind of lost.

God what a horrible post! 😵

TotalDramarama24 · 15/04/2024 14:03

I didn't get the impression she had no friends - in her reality show there was a time where her husband was going away on business and one of her friends flew from Dubai or wherever just to keep her company.

Just remembered she has her own beauty range. I went through a patch of getting monthly beauty boxes and got one of her hair oils which was actually really good.

Don't envy her life but I do envy her wealth. Being born wealthy would have been a really good fit for me.

willWillSmithsmith · 15/04/2024 14:08

I know next to nothing about her except her surname but perhaps she posts in IG because, despite her moneyed upbringing, she needs validation? I have no money to speak of but it doesn’t occur to me to put my life on SM because I don’t need validation🤷‍♀️

namechangingforthis100 · 15/04/2024 14:09

She is definitely lucky I agree. But there's a reason why people often post so much on social media, and usually it's to give the impression or maintain an image that everything in their life is perfect. More often than not there's something going wrong for them which they are trying to distract either others or themselves from. Looks can be deceiving.

pinkyredrose · 15/04/2024 14:10

I'm pretty sure she does things for charity.

She does the bare minimum. She's rather an idiot who thinks she's 'down to earth'.

Tighginn · 15/04/2024 14:23

Just misses having tv cameras following her around for us tv show, probably just trying to get another...

Her husband is seriously dodgy (Google him) and she does the same tedious things on repeat. No career and no real achievements.
All her businesses have failed.
Good if she's happy but she isn't someone I would like to compare myself to.
Kids of the super wealthy who have achieved something are better to compare to.
Stella McCartney.
Jamie Oliver's daughter whose a nurse. Or Gordon Ramsays daughter whose a police officer. Much more impressive.

I always thought her husband gave off the impression that he tolerates her because of the lifestyle. She also comes across that way too , just to keep the family image. Who knows really. It does say a lot that she never posts about the older sibling who had quite the opposite upbringing. Or her mother who she doesn't acknowledge as much as her dad. She seems sweet though.

ScubaDivingSpiderMonkey · 15/04/2024 14:34

I remember it being reported that her sister's wedding cost something like £10m. And the groom was the dodgiest of the dodgy of the dodge.

50feeling22 · 15/04/2024 14:35

Never heard of her? Does she post her kids on Ig? If she does she's not a very good mum

StaunchMomma · 15/04/2024 14:44

It's not really a good idea to look on other people's lives with jealousy. It just diminishes your own experiences when in reality people like TE has always had an incredibly privileged '1% club' life and hence doesn't face the daily struggles the vast majority of us have.

I'd be amazed if there wasn't always a little bit of a question mark in the back of her mind as to whether those close to her are there for her or attracted to Daddy's money.

What a pointless post.
Who the hell cares?
Although, it is sad that you believe social media lives are real lives. No wonder the world is falling to bits, people have no idea how it woks, not how to exist in it

Most posts on MN could be classed as "pointless".

I really enjoyed her reality show years ago and watched every episode. Back then she did seem extremely lucky as she had endless money, a beautiful child, lovely looks, close relationship with her sister and a husband who adored her (at least on camera). She had an enormous house in London with 40 full time staff who were just walking around doing their jobs as if she lived in a hotel. On one of the episodes she turned an unused room into a pink soft play room that cost hundreds of thousands and was the size of a soft play at the local shopping centre. I didn't see anything in the show that suggested PND or I wouldn't have watched it.

The human mind is amazing. We watched the same show and got different takes from it.

I loved the sking trip to Switzerland with her dad and sister with the kids. The husband was still a jerk. That was the only time I actually thought they all looked relaxed.

Exactly how odd, out of all the females living in the world her thoughts are límited to Támara Ecclestone lol.
Some won't even have heard of her.😂
