To think Tamara Ecclestone is the luckiest woman alive

2 healthy and happy children, adoring husband, lovely relationship with sister, health, all the money in the world. I follow her on instagram and she seems like a lovely mum.

Only slightly jealous that she's constantly taking her children all around the world during school holidays and always going to lovely places constantly. I do wonder why she posts on instagram so much though, surely, it's not like she needs the instagram advertising revenue.

Is she the luckiest woman humanity has ever seen?

i bet she is not really happy

Wordsmithery · 15/04/2024 07:57

Is it a real life though? Personally I'd get hugely bored of travelling to five star places and living a five star life. I'd rather work hard, earn my rewards and enjoy them all the more for being occasional treats.
If she's living her life through Insta, that may be her way of getting affirmation, which is a bit hollow.
Yes my life would have been much easier with a bit more money but I wouldn't want to swap with a celebrity/rich person under constant media glare. Plus how horrible to be part of a family where tax fraud on a by-most-standards huge scale is considered acceptable.

She doesn't work for money, but can choose to do 'work' that she chooses, that must be so nice.

She can do that because she had a rich dad. There is a satisfaction to making your own money that I would never want to be without.
I'd rather envy Deborah Meaden. Of course she's not a hot influenza. She made her own fortune though and is secure enough to not have to look hot.

Willmafrockfit · 15/04/2024 07:58

she bought her house for £45 million in 2011
christ!

Can't agree with you there, I'd love to have endless dosh and never have to work again. Working hard holds 0 appeal for me.

Strugglingtodomybest · 15/04/2024 07:59

My guess is that she's seeking validation.

I'm not entirely sure who she is, but lucky or not, if she's posting all the time on Instagram, she's probably not that happy.

tinkerbellesslagoon · 15/04/2024 07:59

It must be weird to have a sister who is nearly 70 and a brother who is 3

Lentilweaver · 15/04/2024 07:50

Also this must be the umpteenth post on MN envying women who don't work and have a man who has given them money.

That's not my idea of a great life.

Sounds fab to me, sign me up.

LyricalGangsta · 15/04/2024 08:00

I'm with the 'it's a bit sad' crowd.
I personally think anyone that posts loads of crap on social media probably has a sad and empty life in the respect they need constant validation and recognition from others.

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 15/04/2024 07:34

Oh well, if her life is perfect on instagram then it must be the truth 🙄

lol!

Hiker50 · 15/04/2024 08:03

Her husband is seriously dodgy (Google him) and she does the same tedious things on repeat. No career and no real achievements.
All her businesses have failed.
Good if she's happy but she isn't someone I would like to compare myself to.
Kids of the super wealthy who have achieved something are better to compare to.
Stella McCartney.
Jamie Oliver's daughter whose a nurse. Or Gordon Ramsays daughter whose a police officer. Much more impressive.

Catinmyshedoh · 15/04/2024 08:04

I have a successful career and it's fucking tedious. If I won the lottery I'd quit tomorrow.

Whenwillitgetwarm · 15/04/2024 08:05

All of the men in her and her sisters lives appear to be dodgy including their father.

What even Jay Rutland?

Yes he seems shady as.

Lentilweaver · 15/04/2024 08:07

I have just Googled her. I don't suppose anyone will believe me, but I am not jealous. Really.

AnOldCynic · 15/04/2024 08:08

Meh.
Financially she's in a fortunate position but not of her own making. Let one like a plastic life to me.

DuchesseNemours · 15/04/2024 08:08

Genuinely, her father is a deeply awful man. Not just a criminal but manipulative and controlling and lying. I've followed F1 for years and he is such an evil shit.

That alone means her life is unlikely to be anything like perfect. It means her childhood is likely to have have been marred by those traits and I cannot believe he stopped just because he got old - so it's likely to still be a factor in some way and it means she will have struggled for genuine love from at least one of her parents.

But yes, she will be extraordinarily rich and have multiple dodgy contacts in governments around the world, should she want or need them. So there's that Grin

ToxicChristmas · 15/04/2024 08:08

She doesn't live the way I'd personally live if I had her money (totally opposite tastes in everything from houses to holidays to clothes) but she certainly is lucky to live an life unencumbered by the worries of money.
Do I think it's the perfect life? No. She'll have her issues just like everyone else has.

YaMuvva · 15/04/2024 08:08

I really hate these passive aggressive posts. Just say what you mean! “AIBU to think Tamara Ecclestone is annoying”. That’s what you really mean so why not just post that rather than this faux adoration?

NeverEnoughPants · 15/04/2024 08:09

Lentilweaver · 15/04/2024 08:07

I 100% believe you.

While I would love to have enough money to not have to work again, if I had to have her life in order to achieve that, I would take a hard pass. I have nothing against her. I hope she's happy. I just don't want her life.

RedHelenB · 15/04/2024 08:11

CoCoBeeBee · 15/04/2024 07:43

She had her home broken into and a load of jewellery stolen must be awful to live in fear of safety in your own home...

That isn't exclusive to being rich .

Mimrr · 15/04/2024 08:12

Couldn’t pick her out of a crowd.
OP you must know by now that wealth doesn’t protect a person from misery. People need a sense of purpose. If she’s constantly telling people her life is perfect she may not be the happiest woman alive. I reckon that woman is quietly pottering away in a garden somewhere. 😁

Anyway. Constant flight are shitty for the environment.

TarantinoIsAMisogynist · 15/04/2024 08:12

People who are happy in themselves tend not to need external validation, so they don't seek it.

Social media doesn't show you someone's reality or whether they are happy - all it can tell you about is the extent to which they are seeking external validation. That's as true for rich socialites as it is for your annoying friend who posts cringey memes.

unsync · 15/04/2024 08:14

She's fortunate to not have the everyday struggles that most have, but how does she trust people? How can she tell whether people are there because they like her or because they want her money? Do they just tell her what they think she wants to hear or the truth? It must be very lonely and difficult to form new relationships.

Everyone has to have security clearance etc, it can't do much for your faith in human nature and then there's the constant fear of people wanting to harm you and your family for money. It's hardly surprising they live in little bubbles of their own making, but that's got to do a number on your MH.
