Not sure if there's already one of these so apologies if so.

We are having a chilled day today. We went out into the city on Friday with dc for shopping and activities which was a hectic day. Yesterday we had friends round for a hunt in the garden and bbq while the weather was nice. Today it's really cloudy despite the forecast being good so I'm taking that as a sign to stay home and eat chocolate in peace. I do need to pop out and get a few small bits of shopping later. And I'm planning on making a cake and taking the little ones for a walk this afternoon. Hopefully older dc will make plans with friends.

It'll be a big lamb roast late afternoon and waiting to see if The Greateat Story Ever Told is on.

Church this morning. Then back to prepare roast lamb lunch for DH, DC and dear in-laws. Probably flop with a gin and tonic and watch a film this evening.

3BellyProblem · 31/03/2024 10:20

DH is away, teens are still in bed and I’m a seriously lapsed Catholic, so I’m just enjoying a coffee, looking at the sea and enjoying some peace and quiet. later on:

Getting a manicure & pedicure.
Making a roast.
Walk on the beach.

kαλοκαλοκαιρι · 31/03/2024 10:35

it’s not easter for another month or so here, but we are having a nice sunshine springtime walk and a roast anyway! i hope you all have a lovely day

Sahara123 · 31/03/2024 10:41

Getting agitated that the bathroom and the kitchen splash backs are revolting and really need cleaning whilst having a urine infection that’s not bad enough to stay in bed but stops me wanting to clean . Although to be fair pretty much anything stops me wanting to clean !
Never mind , it’s a lovely day, husband has taken disabled daughter out and there will be roast lamb later . The sofa will win I feel !

KreedKafer · 31/03/2024 10:44

Am about to check out of the hotel we stayed in last night and have a scenic drive along the coast to see some seals. Then later we’ve got a very long drive home but DP does all the driving (he loves it) so I’ll enjoy sitting back with a book and listening to podcasts.

LenaLamont · 31/03/2024 10:47

A bit of gardening seeing as it’s not actually raining, and the forecast is grim for the rest of the week.

edwinbear · 31/03/2024 10:47

14yr old DS is away on the school ski trip (lucky DS!) feels a bit ‘flat’ without him but he’ll be having a blast I’m sure. DH, 12yr old DD and I don’t have much planned, Easter eggs, roast lamb later. She has her first big athletics meet of the new season tomorrow so we’ll be out all day, so chilled day today feels justified.

BG2015 · 31/03/2024 10:48

Lying by a pool in Cape Verde! 🇨🇻

Oxborn · 31/03/2024 10:48

In bed with Covid 😫

Shoxfordian · 31/03/2024 10:48

Reading the papers in bed, playing some board games, having cod for dinner later with a few glasses of wine

Sparklesocks · 31/03/2024 10:49

Just at home with DP and DD. We have a leg of lamb but poor DD started her nursery settling in period over the last 2 weeks and seems to have HFMD (after conjunctivitis last week!) so we will take it easy. Maybe squeeze in a walk if she’s up to it.

fieldsofbutterflies · 31/03/2024 10:51

DH is working so I had a lie-in, breakfast and a shower and now I'm having a coffee in front of the TV.

Depending on what time he finishes we might go out for coffee/cake later on as it's the last sunny day for at least a week!

Projectme · 31/03/2024 10:51

Roast lunch 1pm with DM, DF, DH, DS, DD and DMIL. DM, DF and DMIL will all be gone by 4ish so comfies on, nanna-nap and scof chocolate (not that I got given an egg but I'll nick some of the kids!). Hopefully a half decent film on but having scanned the TV guide I've lost hope...Ben hur 🙄wizard of oz 😑 and willy wonka 😬 good grief....

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 31/03/2024 10:51

Back from Church, now going to paint the dining room wall where the roof let water in ( now mended, Thank Heaven). If any energy left, do the flowers.

edwinbear · 31/03/2024 10:51

@BG2015 I’m just watching ‘Holidaying with Jane McDonald’ which is in Cape Verde. I really fancy going there, but heard mixed reviews - some people love it and highly recommend, but a few friends aren’t so keen. How are you finding it?

MojoDojoCasaHouse · 31/03/2024 10:52

We’re at a holiday lodge near the in-laws. Teens have just done the egg hunt and are settling down to chocolate for breakfast. DH still in bed. In-laws coming for lunch after that a walk at one of my top 5 beaches. Hopefully someone has got me an egg that I can scoff with red wine later. Long drive home tomorrow 🙁.

Foxgloove · 31/03/2024 10:56

We've been swimming with toddler this morning so been out of house since 8.30am and now just back, to watch tv. When toddler naps I will have a nap too! Then hanging round house until dinner time which will be a roast. 7pm is free time when toddler goes to bed 🎉

CheeseCakeSunflowers · 31/03/2024 10:57

As dh was working till midnight last night I did the first check of the day at 6.30am, checking the lambing shed, two ewes had lambed over night and needed to be put in pens with their lambs away from the rest of the flock. After breakfast drove to church and rang the bells then attended the morning service. I'm having a quick coffee now before getting on with a roast for the family. I worked the last 3 days in a supermarket and I'm back in tomorrow. I'm a bit bemused by talk of the Easter break.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 31/03/2024 10:58

I’ve been seriously combobulated by the clocks going forward and the dog didn’t wake me until nearly 10am 😲. DH and DS(14) are still asleep but I’m ready to get out for a nice dog walk in the sunshine and a cake stop afterwards. We’re going to our friends’ family Easter party later (we might as well join their family at this point 😂) but that doesn’t leave a lot of time and DS wants to bake for our family party tomorrow. I’ve bought everything for a roast dinner but then we got invited to the party so it’ll have to go in the freezer.

BG2015 · 31/03/2024 11:01

@edwinbear it's our first time here. Hot but very windy, cool at night.

Hotel is big but beautiful. It's right on the beach. Great for winter sun but don't think we would come back.

Igiveupagain · 31/03/2024 11:06

Meeting my son for lunch as we didn't manage Mother's day and he's away for his birthday next weekend. He tells me that the place we're going to does the best roast in Bristol.

Ilikewinter · 31/03/2024 11:09

Took dog out nice and early, sun is shining so windows cleaned and proper front room spring clean, now chilling with a brew. I envy those of you that are near a beach !

Dogskidsdogs · 31/03/2024 11:16

Lie in this am and now drinking coffee and eating hot cross buns whilst the DC play Fortnite together and eat Easter eggs. It's been a lovely weekend of chilling out and dog walking.

Sun is shining here so I may go out and potter in the garden or clean the car out. Roast chicken tonight for tea so I'll be on with that later.

RM2013 · 31/03/2024 11:19

Was supposed to be at the gym this morning but my knee is playing up and the workout I was supposed to be doing was not knee friendly! Will take dog for a walk later. Eldest DS at work so chilling and then a roast later - actually rarely cook a roast dinner so
its a nice treat. Then egg hunt for my teens that still insist on it!! Might do a couple of jobs in the garden but it’s a bit overcast

HereWeGoRoundAgain · 31/03/2024 11:21

Lazing around in my Christmas pyjamas trying to work out how the hell to fit a double bed, wardrobe, bookcase and chest of drawers in to a single box room...

We'll do a roast chicken for dinner later and probably open a bottle of fizz for the sake of it.
