How are you spending Easter Sunday?

Not sure if there's already one of these so apologies if so.

We are having a chilled day today. We went out into the city on Friday with dc for shopping and activities which was a hectic day. Yesterday we had friends round for a hunt in the garden and bbq while the weather was nice. Today it's really cloudy despite the forecast being good so I'm taking that as a sign to stay home and eat chocolate in peace. I do need to pop out and get a few small bits of shopping later. And I'm planning on making a cake and taking the little ones for a walk this afternoon. Hopefully older dc will make plans with friends.

It'll be a big lamb roast late afternoon and waiting to see if The Greateat Story Ever Told is on.

Are the shops open by you? They are mostly closed here

We Are having a chilled one - Easter Egg hunt - followed by a roast dinner later and the kids doing their own thing - playing lots I imagine. Some how our little one has slept in until 11 today which never happens - still in bed at 7 last night so lots of energy today.

MolkosTeenageAngst · 31/03/2024 12:18

I’m not really doing anything (single, no children). Currently watching TV and drinking coffee, might go for a walk later if weather stays nice. Won’t see anyone or do anything different to a normal Sunday.

Octavia64 · 31/03/2024 12:20

Packing to go and see family. Off on a two week trip around the U.K. to see the various rellies.

Hoping the weather is nice and I feel better as I've been on antibiotics for the last week.

@Hoplittlebunnyhophophopandstop

It's very windy. Red flag everyday on the beach so no chance of swimming.

Vgbeat · 31/03/2024 12:26

At Chester Zoo as its my birthday too, the cake and chocolate while watching films later.

Turmerictolly · 31/03/2024 12:27

So far, lie in, have out the oven on and watching an amazing production of Jesus Christ Superstar on Sky Arts. Will do lunch, walk then meeting friends later for a drink and light dinner. Weather is grey and uninspiring.

Jaq27 · 31/03/2024 12:31

Ahh everyone’s Easter sounds different but good.
tbh feeling a bit down … both DCs missed Mother’s Day and both didn’t come for Easter.
We moved house a month ago so I won’t be seeing my DM or sisters either. I’m used to a big family get together, roast lamb, plenty of chocolate but it all feels empty - just me and DH.
well enough feeling sorry for myself, I made DH smoked salmon breakfast (I don’t eat it). Later will grill lamb steaks and do a mini roast.
i got him an egg but that’s nowt for me 😂 probably for the best as I am overweight.
maybe a walk on the beach after calling my mum … pub drink on way home ..🤔
Happy Easter all.

We are visiting New York so going to see the 'Easter Parade' of bonnets by St Patricks cathedral, then just wandering around the city.

That's usually my birthday treat too! Blow a kiss to the baby giraffe for me, @Vgbeat

Have a wonderful birthday and enjoy your cake and films.

cleanasawhistle · 31/03/2024 12:43

Have a lovely Easter everyone

I am in bed very poorly with a horrible bug.
DH cleaned the bedroom and changed the bed while I was in the shower
So sitting here with laptop all cosy with some fresh air from the open window

Having a slow day just me and my 13 year old son. We had the devastating news this week that his cancer has spread and so this is his last Easter. We are going to cuddle on the sofa, eat chocolate and watch films followed by a lamb roast dinner later on

Fuck. I am so so sorry.
I will keep you both in my prayers. Hope you both have a lovely day.

Thank you. Is the swimming pool cold? Does the wind make it feel cold
when your sun bathing?

Cuppaand2biscuits · 31/03/2024 13:24

When I was growing up our Easter Sunday was all about watching films and eating eggs. I'm very happy to continue that tradition, we've done the big family roasts but honestly I feel like I'm being robbed of my movie and chocolate day so back to laziness!
We did the egg hunt this morning and have got a nice easy pasta dish planned for dinner.

HarrietofFire · 31/03/2024 13:24

Going to the pub to watch football!

So sorry to hear this. Hope you have a wonderful day together.

Mumof2NDers · 31/03/2024 13:53

I’m sitting on my arse eating onion rings (crisps) when I should really be sorting out our kitchen which currently looks like a bomb site! 😂

Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry to read that. Much love to you both 😪

MferMonsterSearchingForRedemption · 31/03/2024 13:56

Suffering a bit today as I drank too much last night.

I've cooked a steak and ale pie for 12 people and waiting for family to come over.

Pleasegodgotosleep · 31/03/2024 13:58

Church in the morning, home for breakfast, egg hunt and egg rolling with wider family. Chilled out afternoon then out for dinner with MiL.

tchotchke · 31/03/2024 14:01

The same as most Sundays, in my pj’s. With added chocolate eggs.

BCBird · 31/03/2024 14:03

Oxborn · 31/03/2024 10:48

In bed with Covid 😫

Sorry to hear that. Take care

Purplebunnie · 31/03/2024 14:04

It's my Birthday so family is round and DH cooking lunch. DGC has done their egg hunt round the garden and now napping. We're all chilling out

TextureSeeker · 31/03/2024 14:07

Not doing a lot. I slept like shite last night and feel like shite today. The teens are out for the day so it's just me and dh. We walked the dogs this morning, had lunch, now I'm going to nap. I'll go for another dog walk and a run later and that'll be that.
