Not sure if there's already one of these so apologies if so.

We are having a chilled day today. We went out into the city on Friday with dc for shopping and activities which was a hectic day. Yesterday we had friends round for a hunt in the garden and bbq while the weather was nice. Today it's really cloudy despite the forecast being good so I'm taking that as a sign to stay home and eat chocolate in peace. I do need to pop out and get a few small bits of shopping later. And I'm planning on making a cake and taking the little ones for a walk this afternoon. Hopefully older dc will make plans with friends.

It'll be a big lamb roast late afternoon and waiting to see if The Greateat Story Ever Told is on.

Having a slow day just me and my 13 year old son. We had the devastating news this week that his cancer has spread and so this is his last Easter. We are going to cuddle on the sofa, eat chocolate and watch films followed by a lamb roast dinner later on

Enjoy the time together. Sending you my best wishes.

We’ve done an Easter egg hunt, a second Easter egg hunt at grandparents house, out for a day trip to a place with a park and fairground rides just now and then home and visiting other grandparents later.

Thinking about making dinner (but the pot I need is in the dishwasher right now )
DS is at the gym
DD and DH are watching The Capture

I;m faffing about idly as I had horrible acid reflux last night so a bit fragile .

FoodieToo · 31/03/2024 14:33

Making my way to Gatwick from Dublin as heading to Ikos in the morning with friends for our annual trip !
Feel a bit guilty leaving husband and kids but they all appear to be delighted I am going ........😂!!

FoodieToo · 31/03/2024 14:34

Downtoyou, I am so sorry . I read your update on the other board and have been thinking of you and your family a lot since then.

DH is away, teens are still in bed and I’m a seriously lapsed Catholic, so I’m just enjoying a coffee, looking at the sea and enjoying some peace and quiet. later on:

Getting a manicure & pedicure.
Making a roast.
Walk on the beach.

Sounds idilic 😀

Slept a bit late, went for a slow run in the park, potted up some seeds. Paella for dinner so will prep a bit for that in a minute. Later on I plan to have an over-hot, overlong bath and do myself a pedicure. DC2 is away on a music thing so I also will sort out her minging room in fits and starts.

StrangewaysHereWeCome · 31/03/2024 14:43

@Downtoyou sending my very best wishes. I hope you and DS have a wonderful day.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 31/03/2024 14:46

right now - stuck in traffic on the M25. Haven't moved for 15+ minutes so have turned the engine off and am now on my phone. Some people are wandering around. M25 seems to be closed anti clockwise (I'm going clockwise).

Assuming I get home (Suffolk) DH and I and DS1 are supposed to be going out for dinner.

Google Maps isn't showing a problem. Were a few miles past South Mimms. If anyone knows what is happening let me know!

This made me laugh as I have just cleaned my DD's minging room while she's at her Gran's.
Three hours of Zoflora and mopping and I haven't dared touch the wardrobe yet.

Read my book
Rang bells at church
Read some more
Mass planting session in the greenhouse

About to make cauliflower cheese to go with dinner (cooked by dh who doesn’t do cheese)
to be followed by nagging children to tidy bedrooms
Later: eat dinner, watch something in tv, read

TubeScreamer · 31/03/2024 15:41

@Downtoyou 💐

Witchbitch20 · 31/03/2024 15:49

On my own.

Listening to my neighbour revving his motorcycle.

Then making late dinner.

CosmosQueen · 31/03/2024 16:20

@Downtoyou i’m so sorry to read that, shitty cancer, so dreadfully unfair.. Sending you hugs.
So far I’ve done the ironing, 90 minutes gardening, cooked the dinner, crocheted 8 rows of my blanket and am now thinking about getting a cup of tea.
I have two Easter eggs to choose from but can’t make up my mind 🙄
DH walked the dog this morning so I will take her out later if she wants but really I feel like going back to bed, I’m knackered!

ladyvimes · 31/03/2024 16:22

Just had a lovely family roast and egg hunt with the kids. Was a really nice afternoon apart from having to scrub shoes and mop the floor after several of us trod in the smelliest cat poo known to man in the garden!! Had to laugh!

SloaneStreetVandal · 31/03/2024 16:29

Doing nothing! Hubby in his study (NHS - he's not meant to be on call this weekend, but he's had calls), daughter soaking in a (nigh on two hour!) bubble bath and I'm chilling with the lazy boy on full recline (gammon joint in the oven). Blissful! 😊

Mamadothehump · 31/03/2024 16:30

Not really any differently to a usual Sunday 🤷‍♀️

ilovepixie · 31/03/2024 11:33

Where are you that Easter is different? And why is it different? I thought Easter was the same time everywhere.

Orthodox Easter is (usually) later than the other Easter. This year it’s suuuuper late like 5th May or something.

kαλοκαλοκαιρι · 31/03/2024 22:22

Inkypot · 31/03/2024 11:54

@ilovepixie I'm guessing @kαλοκαλοκαιρι is orthodox which would make Easter a May celebration this year for them.
🙏

bingo yes, I’m not actually religious personally, but the holiday period / celebrations, and munching of all the food in greece falls later :)
