If your nearest-and-dearest packed the dishwasher like this ...

... would you say something?

I have done (often) but it's not getting me anywhere because he doesn't agree it's a problem.

I should add that, when I switch it around, I can usually get a lot more in.

What problem does it cause? Do they unpack it too?

ssd · 11/03/2024 20:45

Looks very familiar

TwoBlueFish · 11/03/2024 20:46

If it all fits in then I try not to sweat it. I do rearrange if I know I can fit more in.

mynameiscalypso · 11/03/2024 20:46

I sometimes fill the dishwasher like that. Things still get clean.

WandaWonder · 11/03/2024 20:47

If they come out clean I don't see the issue, sure makes no sense to me but to make it a controlling thing would be just for the sake of it if it still cleans

Mazuslongtoenail · 11/03/2024 20:47

Everything is in one layer and it will wash so I don’t see the issue. In fact I’d stack in a similar way (DH then does do some adjustments I will admit.)

awakeatnightmare · 11/03/2024 20:47

I would literally lose sleep over this. It's making me feel panicky.

Overtheatlantic · 11/03/2024 20:47

Wow that’s worse than I do!

MichaelAndEagle · 11/03/2024 20:48

Looks fine to me. I wouldn't say anything.

Bumblebeeinatree · 11/03/2024 20:49

Does it come out clean? That is the only potential problem, it's surprising how clean things come out even if packed a bit randomly.

Allfur · 11/03/2024 20:49

I'd be v happy someone else was doing it

Shallana · 11/03/2024 20:49

Not the tidiest but it'll get the job done which is enough for me 🤷‍♀️

Createausername1970 · 11/03/2024 20:49

Do the items come out clean? I would have loaded it a bit more organised and maybe got other things in.

But if the stuff comes out clean, it wouldn't my hill to die on.

citrinetrilogy · 11/03/2024 20:51

Someone else is doing it. Rejoice in that fact, sit back, and let them get on with it in their own way.

Topseyt123 · 11/03/2024 20:51

Yes, I would and definitely do say something. I would also rearrange it to a more sensible way of stacking and probably get a fair bit more in.

My DH is also a crap dishwasher stacker and it drives me round the bend. I prefer to do it myself. 😃

Screamingabdabz · 11/03/2024 20:51

That’s weaponised incompetence - don’t rise to it. Just get silent revenge by making them a cup of tea with a lump of ketchup in the bottom.

Not in my dishwasher they don't!

NuffSaidSam · 11/03/2024 20:52

I'd immediately file for divorce. Or just pack a bag and leave and never turn back.

But based on other responses I'm perhaps being a tad harsh.

hummmmm · 11/03/2024 20:52

The saucepan in there upsets me and one plate might not get cleaned properly but otherwise looks ok. How would you stack it? Bowls like that are annoying to stack.

Ladyj84 · 11/03/2024 20:53

Oh gosh looks like ours but it all comes out clean so I don't fuss about it anymore

PuntasticUsername · 11/03/2024 20:54

This is the most upsetting thing I've ever seen in my life.

PickAChew · 11/03/2024 20:55

Those bowls aren't the easiest to stack efficiently but my main concern would be that they would be buffetted about and break because they don't half get hit with some force and need to be stable.

GRex · 11/03/2024 20:56

It's really bizarre, and so disordered that it huves me a sort of spatial awareness pain. I thought DH was bad wanting to swap sides for the big versus little plates, which is our only dishwasher debate.

moonfacer · 11/03/2024 20:56

Do the dishes come out dishes clean?

Does he wash up by hand the things he didn’t fit in or leaves them on the counter?

SD1978 · 11/03/2024 20:56

If it comes out clean, I'd be fine. If it doesn't, and I've said this repeatedly then I'd be giving them dirty plates/ cutlery for the next meal because then it's weaponised incompetence- they know it won't clean like that, and do it badly to either shut you up, or try and get you to stop asking.
