If your nearest-and-dearest packed the dishwasher like this ...

... would you say something?

I have done (often) but it's not getting me anywhere because he doesn't agree it's a problem.

I should add that, when I switch it around, I can usually get a lot more in.

Genuine question - how else would you stack those bowls? I don’t have a dishwasher but whenever I’ve used one it’s always looked like this when I fill it

shams05 · 11/03/2024 21:53

I would restack it and I'd definitely not run a whole cycle for just that few dishes. What does the top rack look like?

Aquamarine1029 · 11/03/2024 21:10

My husband's head would explode if he saw that.

I was just about to write the same thiñg. My dh has to have the dw stacked just so. I let him get on with it.

parietal · 11/03/2024 21:53

get yourself a different set of bowls. those are impossible to pack in.

I agree, I have two bowls left like this, I have been phasing them out! a nuisance to try and put in so I hand wash with the pans and plastic

snoopyfanaccountant · 11/03/2024 22:01

Those bowls aren't dishwasher friendly.

NowayJoséé · 11/03/2024 22:04

I’m going to screenshot this and if my DP ever gives me shit again for how I load the dishwasher.. I shall show him this. Thanks OP, I now feel like a domestic goodness in comparison to this 😂😂

Chatterboxy · 11/03/2024 22:13

That would drive me nuts! 😳
I’d have to re-stack!

Great for pasta though. 😁

I usually put them in the top tray.

I feel your pain. An example of dishwasher loading chez moi.

I see my MIL has dropped in to "help" with the dishwasher in your house too.

Forgottenmypasswordagain · 11/03/2024 22:28

Yep, sometimes.

Lonecatwithkitten · 11/03/2024 22:30

Some people pack the dishwasher like Swedish architects others like a raccoon on speed. Me I'm a Swedish architect and my husband is definitely a raccoon on speed.

crumblingschools · 11/03/2024 22:36

How do the perfectionists/anal stackers/people who need a life stack those bowls?

mumda · 11/03/2024 22:40

Dishwasher Tetris is a great game as long as you're not the only player.

shams05 · 11/03/2024 22:44

I'd probably stack those bowls on the top rack with spacing in between or in the mugs spot along the side of the top rack

KestrelMoon · 11/03/2024 22:45

Your nearest and dearest needs to be retrained.

Bumblebeeinatree · 11/03/2024 20:49

Does it come out clean? That is the only potential problem, it's surprising how clean things come out even if packed a bit randomly.

This

Copperoliverbear · 11/03/2024 22:46

Awful, I do not let my husband load the dishwasher exactly for this reason, he unloads it I load it. X

hellsBells246 · 11/03/2024 22:48

awakeatnightmare · 11/03/2024 20:47

I would literally lose sleep over this. It's making me feel panicky.

🙄

KnickerlessParsons · 11/03/2024 22:48

Everyone in our house refuses to stack the dishwasher now because they know I always empty it and restack it. I've made a rod for my own back, but I don't mind because I am the best dishwasher stacker. 😀

Copperoliverbear · 11/03/2024 22:49

I also rinse my stuff in a bowl of hot soapy water before dishwashing it too.

minipie · 11/03/2024 22:51

Patio.

I’m in the Swedish architect camp.

crumblingschools · 11/03/2024 22:55

@Copperoliverbear doesn’t that defeat the object

Librarybooker · 11/03/2024 22:55

Interesting, is that the top shelf? If so plastic thing ok, if bottom in ours it would be risky. However, if top shelf things wouldn’t come out clean
