To think this is vile (hotel room)

We've come to a spa hotel for one night. There is 6 of us so have spent over £900 on rooms, treatments and in the restaurant.

I ran a bath once back in the room and realised the plug hole is literally filled with other people's hair 🤢 (the pic doesn't show how much is actually in there)

Would you complain?

Is the rest of the bath clean?

I'd complain. Your own gunk is one thing. Multiple other people?

£900 for 6 people on rooms, restaurants *and treatments sounds like a real bargain per person.

I wouldn't complain if the only fault is a few hairs in the plug hole.

I'd probably straighten a wire coathanger and try to hook it out - l love hoiking a clump of hair out of the plug hole, so satisfying.

Nah if the rest of the bath was clean, I'd pop the plug in and get on with my bath.

I don’t think I would have looked that closely. Budget accommodation can fall short on standards though.

My DS has just started work as a drainage engineer and I'm strangely drawn to his stories of unblocking things 😬😁

Why have you removed the plug from the hole?
Are you trying to find faults in order to get a refund/money off?

Sounds like a 4 in the bed moment. You got it for cheap, just put the plug in and have your bath!

The thing is if they're keeping the prices that low, they probably cut back on cleaning staff who will no doubt be rushed off their feet, so little things like that are easily missed.

You should never need a bath in a spa hotel due to being in a swim costume all day getting all wrinkly while enjoying the facilities. You should’ve just had a shower in the spa to wash your hair

I mean, the plug would go over that so it's not like your bath will fill up with someone else's hair.

But you know sleeping in a hotel...you are one sheets thickness from hundreds of people sweating on a mattress!

I would just put the plug in and enjoy your bath.

That is jolly cheap, op! That's 150 each. I've never had a treatment cheaper than 50 quid, usually around 80 for an hour's treatment. So you've spent 70-100 pounds on half board pp... that's a proper budget hotel. I'd just be happy if the sheets are clean and you've got a kettle in the room, at that price.

Tell them you had a great stay and the only issue was tiny, a bit of hair in the plug hole.

I think you’re being a bit nit picky, you’re not paying for 5 star.

visible dirt on the bed/surfaces are very different to interrogating the interiors.

It just looks like a couple of hairs on a place that no part of your body is going to come into contact with. Not sure that I would even notice

On the basis that you won't be bathing in the plug hole, YABU.

It's just hair, not a nest of vipers.

I just stayed in a hotel where the bathroom was thick with mould and the room was filthy. Work was paying, so I couldn't get a refund, but it was a lot more expensive than yours. Your complaint doesn't come close :)
