Eh? What on earth are they covering up. Kensington Palace have updated their January statement saying it was made
clear then the timescale given for Kate's recovery and that she would be taking up royal duties after Easter. Nothing has changed and she continues to do well.

I agree with the consensus. It should be obvious to any mum that as soon as she gives anyone any information while still recovering the media will be awash with speculation and the mortality rates of whatever it is. Would you want your children reading that? If it's a slightly sensitive issue then the last thing her kids will want is everyone at school talking about their mum's gynaecological issues or whatever. This allows the kids to keep saying "she's had surgery and she's at home getting better" on repeat to anyone who asks, they might not even have been told what it is.

The speculation is ridiculous and verging on sinister.

I think it just drives the tabloid media and SM nuts that there have been no leaks. They love to pour, ghoulishly, over every detail and call in hundreds of so called experts to dissect every word of the press releases. It infuriates them that they get no tip offs about their movements and that Catherine has moved between home, hospital and Norfolk without a pap-photo.

I disagree with the PR comments - I think that there can be too much "feeding the beast" - if they released more details there would be thousands of new articles tomorrow.

There is also a great contrast to all of the MN:ers who defended the rights of Meghan to give few/no medical details of her children's' births, despite their places in the Line of Succession yet demand that Catherine (not in the Line of Succession) reveal her private medical information.

in all seriousness, if you asked these questions in the workplace HR would have serious issues. It is not OK to speculate about someone’s health issues, in the public eye or not. Just because some people extrapolate every piece of sad PR and sympathy to get headlines doesn’t mean that it’s right.

Baffles me why anyone would rush to defend this family. We owe them nothing and they cost us a lot.

It’s interesting how saying nothing can drive people bonkers. I’ve used that approach in my own life re health issues. It keeps things very simple and I don’t have to deal with people's opinions.

Maybe she has had a lot of 'work' done and is waiting until all the bruising etc has settled ? Or maybe she has popped over to the States and is recuperating with Hazza and Megs ? Or maybe she is at home, chilling and binge eating dirty carbs and watching Gogglebox The Crown ?

All of which seem as likely as any of the weird conspiracies !

And just because he has cancer and she doesn't doesn't actually mean that she's in better health. She's presumably feeling more miserable than he is right now. Not that it's a competition, but the names of their illnesses aren't relevant.
