Zok · 29/01/2024 14:16

Without being nagged

I’ve wondered if he could be on the spectrum
doesnt remember to pick up his clothes after a bath either
or remove hairs from the sink after shaving moustache

I myself have Aspergers but it’s been 9 years off and on reminding

I think it’s rarer to find one that does use it. Mine acts offended that I’ve dared to suggest it was him (it is always him).

Lanawashington · 29/01/2024 14:20

Most of mumsnet despise toilet brushes and will think your husband is right

Zok · 29/01/2024 14:20

Same with doesn’t open window after toilet

doesn’t have basic considerations for
others

He just sounds a bit careless / thoughtless. Very rude.

VickyEadieofThigh · 29/01/2024 14:21

I don't see how being a slob is related to autism.

Yes..toilet brushes are grim, sits in a little pool of shit soup.

He should be using an alternative way to wipe his mess though.

Bennyontheloose · 29/01/2024 14:23

Being lazy doesn't make you autistic, It just makes you lazy. I've never had the need to use a loo brush though

Jessieshome · 29/01/2024 14:25

We don't even have a toilet brush! (Not because I have a particular problem with them, they are rather handy but also complete cesspits!) just squirt some bleach down there.

Also, not picking up clothes, or washing hairs away from the sink? This is completely normal male behaviour! I assume you don't also have sons or you'd be complaining about the wee all over the toilet seat and floor too. I wish you all the luck in the world in getting him to change!

catelynjane · 29/01/2024 14:28

Why do you think being lazy, selfish and unhygienic means he's on the spectrum?

That's pretty offensive, tbh.

ginasevern · 29/01/2024 14:31

Toilet brushes are the work of the devil himself. I knew someone once that put hers in the dishwasher. Puke.

Otherwise he sounds like a fairly average man. Not saying that's right though.

'A bit'...!!!

He's not a bit anything, he's completely lazy

My dp gets a row like a child when he doesn't clean the toilet behind himself and I couldn't care less about how it makes him feel
I mean how fucking disgusting to just leave shit for your spouse to clean - it is beyond awful.
Since it's not every time anymore I'm not as harsh so I just gently tell him to clean it before I go and he does without moaning
But before, it was every time, he used every excuse in the world and couldn't have cared less

Train your husband and don't back down.

I’d like to know what is the ‘alternative’ is?

Especially as so many people on mumsnet don’t use toilet brushes.

StrongandNorthern · 29/01/2024 14:33

On the spectrum? Doubt it.
Typical bloke behaviour! Sadly, yes.
Toilet brush? No.
Bleach.

Agii · 29/01/2024 14:35

Get a silicone one, it won't sit in the poo water and disinfect it when cleaning the toilet with bleach.
Before I had the silicone one, my young toddler threw it down the stairs and it splashed everywhere 💩

I'd also like to know what the alternative is?

Especially for the more runny ones that tend to splatter the bowl.

Nchanged89 · 29/01/2024 14:42

I think the toilet brush is the least of your problems tbh.
You have posted a lot about your dysfunctional relationship, you don't take any advice on board.
You need to end this farce and not let your children witness and grow up in this shit show.

SallyWD · 29/01/2024 14:57

We don't even have a toilet brush. I find them unhygienic. If the toilets dirty we squirt a bit of bleach and use toilet paper.

That's what I do. Toilet brushes are nasty.

Toilet brushes are vile. YABU.

On the spectrum of what? The spectrum of being a cunt?
