I too immediately thought trafficking. How do people seriously not?!

Seems like it. Especially the one room with the double bed. Although possibly male sex workers given the location in Brighton, the rainbows and the camp decor.

Well because from what I know, women who are trafficked are not held in conditions where they decorate it like this for them, it’s much more likely this is an air bnb for stag and hens and it’s not that out there for Brighton,

CoffeeMachineNewbie · 25/01/2024 13:40

Brothel. Girls sleep in the bunk beds and use the bedroom for punters.

Definitely not residential as the bathroom has those push soap dispensers.

No tv, books etc.

CoffeeMachineNewbie · 25/01/2024 13:44

@janeintheframe I expect the girls entertain in the lounge for parties and the men pick which one they want and take them in the double bedroom. The rest stay and watch the show or get into an orgy or whatever else they are paying for.

Alternatively the girls work shifts.

DeanElderberry · 25/01/2024 14:06

Brothel for shift workers, people get to sleep in the bunks when off duty. Or maybe while the clients make a choice from the menu. Very grim.

Mollymalone123 · 25/01/2024 14:31

I woukd imagine the girls that work there actually sleep in those bunk beds

Blomdd · 25/01/2024 14:46

Looks like a typical sex club. People run them from their houses. I've been in a few (not for fun!). Honestly they all look quite similar to this.

Are you a police officer who raids them?

What with 8 bunk beds?

KreedKafer · 25/01/2024 15:21

Superlambaanana · 24/01/2024 19:02

Exactly. Staggered at the naivety of others who think this is a fun student or 'art collective' digs. It's a brothel for sex trafficked women. Anyone who rents it should be reported to the police. Women will be held there against their will.

If this was a brothel for sex-trafficked women, I doubt it would be on RightMove.

It would not have cardboard cutouts of Freddy Mercury, the Queen and Margaret Thatcher on the walls, a rainbow and masks of the royal family in the bloody bog. It would not have an outside space with fake grass. Customers at brothels do not sit and relax outdoors with a cocktail on a summer's evening, and nobody who keeps trafficked women creates a space for them like that.

This place is not meant to be sexy. It's camp and kitsch.

You really think people who run brothels full of captive sex-trafficked women have a mandatory health-and-safety compliance poster in the neatly set-out kitchen?

I think that, if you believe captive trafficked women are put up in properties as clean and expensively furnished as this and full of humorous touches, you are perhaps the naive one here.

This has definitely been previously set up as an Airbnb for hen/stag parties, probably mainly hens and gay stags.

LauderSyme · 24/01/2024 22:28

I thought they'd put down astro turf in the living room.

Yes, this is the thing I'm choosing to mention.

You know, that's the thing that was troubling me the most. What does this say about us!

PeppermintMandy · 25/01/2024 18:05

It’s actually quite disgusting how desperately people want to believe they are looking at a property where women have been trafficked and abused. It’s really quite sickening.

Please do the tiniest bit of research into sex trafficking and the sex industry.

It makes ZERO commercial sense to have ONE bed for customers and EIGHT bunk beds for women. This is a posh area of Brighton. The mortgage on this property will be a fortune. You honestly think traffickers use a property like this? In a busy desirable area like this? & cover their costs PLUS make a substantial enough profit to risk being caught doing this kind of criminal activity by pimping out ONE women at a time?

You think brothels are this clean and nice and thoughtfully decorated?? Come on now.

People should just admit they’re just relishing in thinking about the most morbid thing you possibly can even though it makes zero sense and there is zero evidence.

Bunk beds 😱brothel!

Maggie Thatcher 😱 brothel!

Health & Safety poster 😱 brothel!

What with 8 bunk beds?

Yes for people who want to stay the night. It isn't uncommon. Weird, yes.

YeahIsaidit · 25/01/2024 21:49

Who wouldn't want to go for a wee with the King's face staring at em? Margaret thatcher down the hall from the French maid made me choke on my water

Mnk711 · 25/01/2024 21:54

Looks like something out of a police drama full of trafficked women. Shudder.

goingdownfighting · 26/01/2024 13:20

I reckon it's a sex dungeon for hire.

Crabwoman · 26/01/2024 13:43

Dominatrix den for-ex public schoolboys?

Dormitory bunkbeds with Thatcher coming to give them a flogging.

MermaidEyes · 26/01/2024 14:10

It's definitely got a sexual theme. I'm going with Air BnB for hens or more likely, gay men, because of the rainbows and gay icons everywhere (Freddie, Marilyn, The Queen etc). Possibly also hired out for local sex parties.

NoOrdinaryMorning · 26/01/2024 14:37

About right for Brighton.

Have reported it to Rightmove as inappropriate

Oh get a grip.

What specifically is so “inappropriate” about it that the owner shouldn’t be allowed to advertise it for rent?

Icannoteven · 26/01/2024 17:05

LapinR0se · 24/01/2024 18:45

That is 100% a brothel

Yes, I came on to say this.

I think legally a brothel can have 2 prostitutes and a maid working at any given time. I went to school with a girl who’s dad run a brothel, completely legally and it was where he met her mother 🫤.

pigsDOfly · 26/01/2024 17:10

It's in Brighton.

Pretty standard really for the area.

Just wouldn't want to live next door to it as I imagine it's party central.

Highly unlikely to be used for trafficked women.

Trafficked women are used to make money for criminals. They do not get to live and work in expensive rented flats in that sort of clean, over decorated environment with each of them having their own bunk bed to rest up in while one woman entertains at a time in the big colourful bedroom.
