Name changed as regular poster.

Usually win between £100 and £250 per month in Premium Bonds with nearly full holdings.

Just checked January's numbers and we've won £1000!

Anyone else?

AIBU to think they're a good investment?!

I have about 27k - won £825 last year. Not bad. But I am in it for the gamble.

Husband has about 35k. He got £350 this month. He wins a lot more than me. I won £25 in this month's draw.

SausageRollsWithMustard · 03/01/2024 08:23

£150 for me!

I've won at least £50 every month for over 12 months now, biggest prize so far was £250.

I keep them for the chance of winning enough to stop working. 😁

blitzen · 03/01/2024 08:24

£50 for me 😀

Scrumbleton · 03/01/2024 08:26

i won £150 this month and £575 last month- £50k investment

InMySpareTime · 03/01/2024 08:27

I think of it less as investment and more as a kind of lottery with no capital loss.
People play the Lottery all the time and lose their stake each time for the hope of winning big.
PBs have smaller winnings but still good odds and you keep your stake.

LakeTiticaca · 03/01/2024 08:49

I don't know if I've won cos I can't get the app to work today 😡

Brird · 03/01/2024 08:49

Nothing, I have £7k holdings. I'm not getting the average return at all, it would be more sensible to put it in a savings account, but I keep holding out for a big win.

widowtwankywashroom · 03/01/2024 08:52

Nothing. Not a sausage

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 03/01/2024 08:52

I completely forgot DH and I have some. I think we got them 20 years ago and have no idea what email, bank account or name they'd be under. Is there any way of finding them?

BarrelOfOtters · 03/01/2024 08:54

1800 won last year on 16,000 holding…nice.

Coastalcreeksider · 03/01/2024 09:04

£100 x 2, so very pleased with that. Last month £25 so big increase in winnings.

Have bought two lots of bonds recently, bought another lot just before Christmas so will be looking forward to February results.

mrskimsneakattack · 03/01/2024 09:05

I usually get £25 maybe every couple of months or so. £125 today!

We had the max you could hold after selling our house and regularly won prizes (nothing more than £75 though). Then we renovated new house and used the money and have been building it up again since. Nothing for ages!!!!

WhatHaveIFound · 03/01/2024 09:08

£150 for me and £100 for DH today.

DryIce · 03/01/2024 09:12

Nothing for me! First month of nothing though - I bought them in May last year and have been "earning" over 5% "interest", so so far has been worth it

Hoosemover · 03/01/2024 09:24

It depends on what you got invested and your tax status. DH has had full holding since august and won £1300. Works out about the same as an easy access account without paying tax on it.

wednesday32 · 03/01/2024 10:26

won £100,£100,£50 and £25, with nearly full holdings. Last month won £100 & £50. Last march won £500&£100 but nothing between march and dec.

OddityOddityOdd · 03/01/2024 10:31

If you have the max amount £50k you will most likely win something most months. It was worth while interest rates were low but I moved nearly all of it to an NS&I bond as it was offering a guaranteed 6.2% interest. You need to look at premium bonds as upfront lottery tickets but you get your money back when you want it.

chouxchoux · 03/01/2024 10:32

My DP won £10,000 on premium bonds last year! (He has the max amount invested, so decent odds).

edwinbear · 03/01/2024 10:35

I won £200 this month on FH. They make sense for me as I pay tax on all my savings (no savings allowance at all) and my ISA's are maxed out. Plus it's good fun keeping fingers crossed for a big win!

Alchemistress · 03/01/2024 10:36

£450 on Full holdings. So no bad at all.

Hatenewyear · 03/01/2024 10:36

Not a great investment but gives me hope that I'll win the million one day. I won £100 this month and gives me a little smile even if I am still at work!

Alcyoneus · 03/01/2024 10:38

Premium bonds are a terrible investment. The vast vast majority of people are wasting their cash by putting it in premium bonds. There are so many other low risk ways to get much much better return.

BarrelOfOtters · 03/01/2024 10:45

A colleague won 25,000 this year...she was overjoyed.
