Just that, how many of you know your husbands/partners passcode for their phone?

Goldcrestonabranch · 28/12/2023 07:11

no (he doesn't know mine either).

ThaTrìCaitAgam · 28/12/2023 07:19

Yes, but we don’t go through them.

I was the one to handle the inheritance of a loved one this year, and knowing his pass code made that easier.

tigger1001 · 28/12/2023 08:12

No. and he doesn't know mine. Mine is a work phone and the security set up in that means i change password every 60 days.

BIossomtoes · 28/12/2023 08:14

Yes. All his funeral arrangements are on it.

Girasoli · 28/12/2023 08:16

Yes for personal phone, no for work phone.
He knows mine too.

If we just want to take a photo/scroll the Internet we will both just use whatever phone is lying around.

reasoningwithstupidity · 28/12/2023 08:19

Yes but I never go through his phone so each time I do want to use his phone I end up asking him for it again - not that it's been changed lol

LizzieSiddal · 28/12/2023 08:20

Yes I do and he knows mine (though he always forgets it and asks me what it is if he’s using it).

We often use each others phones, for googling stuff using whose ever is closest or if the other is driving and there’s a text etc.

Goatymum · 28/12/2023 08:20

I do. He knows mine too!

ObliviousCoalmine · 28/12/2023 08:22

Yes, and vice versa.

PieAndLattes · 28/12/2023 08:22

I could probably guess it as he has the same number for lots of things, but I have no interest in going through his phone.

ByTheSea · 28/12/2023 08:22

Yes

kentishgodess30 · 28/12/2023 08:24

Yes! 😊 and he knows mine.

BlueMarigold · 28/12/2023 08:24

Yes and he knows mine

s4usagefingers · 28/12/2023 08:27

Yes but we rarely use each others phones so I never remember it.

ManateeFair · 28/12/2023 08:30

He’s told me a couple of times over the years, so I could look something up for him on his phone while he was driving or something. I can’t remember it though. I’ve got zero interest in looking through his phone.

Glittertwins · 28/12/2023 08:30

Yes and vice versa though he tends to forget the variations

Oldandcobwebby · 28/12/2023 08:34

Yes, of course we both know each other's codes. If you've got nothing to hide, why wouldn't you?

RoseLarkin · 28/12/2023 08:35

Yes, it's the same as mine. But I never look through his phone.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 28/12/2023 08:35

Yes, and he knows mine. Don't generally use it, but occasionally will to look something up if mine isn't to hand.

GordoStevensMustache · 28/12/2023 08:36

Disillusioned11 · 27/12/2023 22:58

Yes because it’s just a phone. We use each others interchangeably depending on which is charged and nearest.
i clearly lead a very boring life because I’m baffled by the ‘invasion of privacy’ bit? What on earth do people have or do on a phone that has to be kept secret/private from your spouse?

Edited

Well, I like to know that I can keep anything however boring, private from dh. Why not? I don't share every single thought I ever have with him. We got married, we didn't merge into one person. I'm still me. If dh decided he needed access to.my phone I'd be really bloody annoyed tbh. (And he wouldn't get it)

Please tell me you don't have a shared email address too 🙈

Yes, of course we both know each other's codes. If you've got nothing to hide, why wouldn't you?

Because it shows a lack.of trust. And honestly an unhealthy obsession with what the other is doing. You're married, not actually joined at the hip. You're still separate people.

HeraSyndulla · 28/12/2023 08:41

No, or any of his passwords on other devices.

whyamiawakestill · 28/12/2023 08:43

Whole family know mine and his.

Mespher · 28/12/2023 08:45

No, I'm not interested in his phone, I don't know any passwords either, I barely know my own passwords as they are all computer generated.

jc12689 · 28/12/2023 08:45

Oldandcobwebby · 28/12/2023 08:34

Yes, of course we both know each other's codes. If you've got nothing to hide, why wouldn't you?

I don't need to look at my partner's phone and vice versa, so I never asked and they've never randomly told me.

If there was a specific reason for looking (like they asked me to check something for them) the yes, but it's just never come up in conversation.

It's like sharing your debit card PIN number. What's the point? It's nothing to do with trust .

If you share for the sake of it and then claim you never look at their phone, it's like you're virtue signalling your trust for each other rather than just trusting each other.
