Hi and Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you have a happy and lovely Christmas!

Obviously posting in AIBU for traffic, but since it's Christmas day, I hope you can forgive me.

What's your favorite Christmas gift? Mine is a "baby boy" pendant with a tiny diamond from DH, I am pregnant with a baby boy after heart break and loss and books!

Sending unmumsnetty hugs to everyone!Flowers

aww how lovely we bought ourselves nice d8ining table chairs between us and the only present we had to open this morning was a box of chocolates from one of my grandsons we are at that age where we are hard to buy for as we buy anything we want ourselves so i tell everyone to spend the money on their own kids

Createausername1970 · 25/12/2023 14:14

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Enjoy your last peaceful Christmas for a few years.

This is the first Christmas my son has been working, so I am very happy with the jigsaws he chose and paid for out of his own money 🙂

I have lovely presents this year and am very thankful but the one that almost made me cry was a beautiful soft hat my ds bought me. He’s 18 and his dad and sister sort most of the gifts but I’d commented one day on a dog walk that I really needed a new hat. He remembered and went and bought it himself. He is not a shopper and he says it took him ages. It actually is the perfect hat I’d have picked myself and it just really means a lot.

New slippers and thermal socks

Hotatxmas · 25/12/2023 14:27

Congratulations OP.

This. It’s a shelf. Bought from my orchestra friend to hook on my music stand for reeds etc. Weird but useful :)

Husband bought me a Vivienne Westwood watch and I absolutely love it, complete surprise and along with it a key ring that said, this ‘time’ next year I will be with you mummy. Baby on the way and it’s been a rough pregnancy so was just so thoughtful.

Now about to have family over and they are all bringing dishes to just serve up, having such a lovely Christmas ❤️

Hope you are all having a lovely peaceful day x

Lego and perfume plus a fab puzzle book

Honestly, the best thing has been how happy my only DS (13) is that it’s Christmas. He’s such a lovely lad and has been so excited even though he is now oh so grown up (not that he really is). Congrats to those expecting babies. I was so worried about having a child - I had an unhappy childhood. It’s been the loveliest thing ever. Happy Xmas!

ChristmasCracker23 · 25/12/2023 14:45

I have a few things, Dyson Airwrap, La Vie Est Belle perfume, tickets to see Girls Aloud from DH, a hand knitted bobble hat, gloves and scarf from my friend and a hand print picture from my God Daughters baby.

There’s a story behind the Girls Aloud tickets which makes them super special.

I'm bubbling over with gratitude and unexpectedly so! I woke up this morning with low expectations - 3 teens who've been somewhat lacking in empathy and compassion of late, a sick husband and on the back of a year from hell in which I lost my beloved dad, had to go no contact with my abusive mother and some serious health problems...

My DH bought me a VERY expensive Lego set I thought was never going to be mine, due to said price tag. I realise how immensely fortunate I am.
DS who is 17 bought me a really lovely bag with his own hard earned money.
DD1 who is 14 off her own back but with cash from dad bought me a really special necklace that when you hold against a phone light projects a photo of the three of them as little kids at Christmas.
Already blown away by this stage DD2 who is also 14 gave me some lovely earrings. And had hand painted a card of some mountains, in it she's written such a heartwarming message of how I make Christmas so special for them and how that's amazing this year especially. I was literally blubbing by the end. I honestly couldn't feel more grateful right now - yes the gifts are wonderful but the thought and kindness on a day that I just thought I'd be feeling sad, grieving and struggling, has really turned things around from how I expected them to be.

Ourshoddyhouse · 25/12/2023 15:01

A big box of ferrero rocher from DH, presents from others have actually made me question why I put any effort in to others and thinking about saying no more gifting going forward.

dsan · 25/12/2023 15:13

DP got me the most wonderful heated throw, only issue is we're running very behind for dinner because I didn't want to get out from under it. Not that that's a problem, MIL turned up an hour ago with half of Tesco's Christmas chocolate aisle so everyone's feeling a bit sick Grin

Toddlerteaplease · 25/12/2023 15:18

My sister gave me these. I love them.

My eyes have just prickled with tears reading this. How very lovely.

DH bought me a mini greenhouse! I've wanted one for ages. I can start my sweet peas early this year 😊

KitchenMess · 25/12/2023 15:39

A series of books. I bought them myself though. I could have got other things I wanted but my mind went completely blank when my OH asked me what kind of things I would like, so I just said well we need new bedding... but once I get around to putting the new bedding on the bed maybe that'll be my favourite as he bought the premium hotel-style bedding

VickyEadieofThigh · 25/12/2023 15:40

A beautifully framed photo of the whole group of guests at the wedding of my close friend's daughter in Italy that we attended in July. It was an amazing week spent with people we knew and which we'll all remember forever.

mrsbyers · 25/12/2023 15:41

I got some coasters with different pictures of our dog and some headlights for my crocs , lots of other stuff but they’re my favourites.

i would have been able to add my long looked for cerise le creuset egg holder but BIL seems to have lost it between leaving his flat yesterday and waking up this morning
