To ask what is your favorite Christmas gift this year

Hi and Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you have a happy and lovely Christmas!

Obviously posting in AIBU for traffic, but since it's Christmas day, I hope you can forgive me.

What's your favorite Christmas gift? Mine is a "baby boy" pendant with a tiny diamond from DH, I am pregnant with a baby boy after heart break and loss and books!

I got many many lovely things from my gorgeous family and friends but some of the loveliest were:

A very romantic picture from my husband and a vintage brooch he picked for me that goes perfectly with the dress I wore today.

Really generous gift of hotel vouchers from my brother

Lovely soft shawl from my mother-in-law who doesn't know me àll that well (live in a different country) but still somehow picked something I would really love

My mom got me a specialist cook book and the associated baking wear.

My lovely friend made me something really personal about what a good friend she thinks I am.

Really it's all making me well up a bit thinking about it. And these were just a few examples.

It's not the price or the stuff itself even (tho a lot of these things will improve my life/bring me pleasure). It's knowing they thought about me and loved me enough to seek these things out.

Its been a lovely day generally, though it has had its challenges. I truly think I am even more in love with my husband now than I was 12 hours ago - he has shown my family and I some truly amazing support today, and it's deepened my respect for him even further. That's the greatest gift of all.

DH got me a 9 carat gold ruby and diamond pendant and matching earrings. I thought I was having a 9 carat 22 inch gold chain because I've got a sapphire and diamond pendant with an 18 inch chain and I think it's too short for my fat neck.

10th doctor plastic sonic screw driver (it makes the noise)

I got a beautiful soft leather handbag that smells fantastic, a new chainsaw (DH broke my two this year) and my personal favourite was a gismo (gremlins) soft beanie hat. A bit of a strange mix but I'm very happy!!

We got the best Christmas gift ever (yesterday) We've been trying to conceive for what feels like a million years and actually gave up tracking etc 11 months ago after another loss. Hoping this little Christmas miracle sticks!

DH got me a really nice olive green wool hat with feathers around it from Holland Cooper. I haven't had the heart to tell him I wanted a hat to wear walking the dogs - this is far too beautiful to get caught in brambles

A pair of gold ear rings with tiny gold elephants from dp and a little pottery dish with a hare on it from my d out law which is so perfect for me that I think she must be a witch. It made me cry. Ds insists that he knew nothing about it.

My mum got me a pair of earrings. She has dementia and is getting worse. It will be the last present she buys me I imagine. I will love them forever.

A brand new car from my husband, although to be fair we collected it last week.

My DH actually listened to me this year and bought me something I’ve wanted for ages! It makes such amazing hot chocolate and I’m already in love with the ginger flavour.

I’m now wondering if I would be ridiculous to try and pack it in my rucksack to take to my parents for New Year’s so they can try it out! 😂

Loved reading this thread and feeling quite envious of those whose loved ones took the time- and know you well enough- to pick the perfect gift. I hope you enjoy your gifts and appreciate the special people in your lives.

Tickets to see Maneskin from my son... that was last week so it was an early present, and it was just amazing.

Tickets to see P!nk from my other son and his partner, and my miniature flower shop kit from my husband.

I got some really lovely gifts this year.

A gold necklace from from DP. It felt like special little romantic gift.

Also from my sister who is notorious for terrible gifts, usually, some copper cocktail mugs which look fantastic in the kitchen.

Partner massively overspent the budget we agreed (£400, which I thought was plenty to get each other something naice). On one hand, makes my presents to him look very boring in comparison, on the other, have the ridiculous ysl handbag I’ve been in love with but knew I could never justify getting as it’s a massive waste of money. He’s been secretly saving up all year for it.

I got an awesome VR headset not set up yet but can’t wait to try it out

My lovely thoughtful 13-year-old has been working so hard in her part-time job to buy me and the whole family Christmas presents 😍She's just the most amazing girl ever! She spent so much to buy everyone really thoughtful gifts that she wrapped beautifully and snuck under the tree during the night. 🥰 And my favourite gift were really cute fluffy socks she got me (among other things) with "make me some tea" on the soles 😄

My best friend got me the most gorgeous earring, it’s a cuff that runs up your ear with daisies on and it’s gorgeous and she put so much thought into what side I part my hair and which ear I have the least piercings in so it sits nicely. She also bought me some other earrings for my other ear to compliment it. I utterly adore them!

Her dog also bought me a t-Rex keyring that I love so all in all they are excellent gift covers 😁

Our children clubbed together to get us an overnight stay with posh dinner on a local nature reserve which promises curlews. Very excited.
