Hi and Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you have a happy and lovely Christmas!

Obviously posting in AIBU for traffic, but since it's Christmas day, I hope you can forgive me.

What's your favorite Christmas gift? Mine is a "baby boy" pendant with a tiny diamond from DH, I am pregnant with a baby boy after heart break and loss and books!

Sending unmumsnetty hugs to everyone!Flowers

DH gave me a beautiful canvas-bound 30th edition copy of my favourite book. Very pleased with that!

We don't do many gifts for adults in our family, so the ones we do give mean a lot.

SausageChopsBellyFlops · 25/12/2023 17:49

I was absolutely spoiled this year, a lot of years of single parenting, now some of them are adults and the appreciation they show is just mind blowing.

My favourite gift wasn't actually from one of my dc though, it was from my sons lovely girlfriend, she got me a beautiful charm bracelet, with a charm of my favourite animal, and my birthstone, and best of all, the clasp on it says 'family' 😭 I absolutely adore her and it was so thoughtful of her.

This.

I bought it for the 2 teens as a family present for us all for the day.

We are building it now. Enjoying the togetherness of it all. That's the sort of feeling money can't buy.

I also bought two sets of up house lego, one for my son and one for friends daugther, they both love it.

First Christmas married and my husband bought me (amongst other things) a silver photo frame with 2 photos of my dad in (who sadly is no longer with us).

How lovely and thought of him. ❤️ Sorry about your dad.

Nsws2015 · 25/12/2023 18:00

An empire Red kitchenaid artisan! I have longed for one for years, I've always loved baking but they were always out of my price range. My amazing hubby bought me the one I've always looked at in shops, as well as the flex edge beater too that I thought looked great! I can't wait to get baking with it, we made the yorkies in it today and they turned out amazing, I think tomorrow I may have to make some cupcakes or yule log....anything to try it out 🤣

The highlight has to be watching our 3 year old who asked santa for trains, literally just trains as he's obsessed! Well he's had the best day building a beast of a train track with daddy & his big brother & sister, is adamant he's not going to bed because trains.....his excitement is everything, he's had us all smiling all day ❤️

PieAndLattes · 25/12/2023 18:10

Longchamp luggage and a trip to Munich to see my favourite band!

How lovely and thought of him. ❤️ Sorry about your dad.

Thank you.

I was balling my eyes out at 10am (happy tears). A very thoughtful present.

Wishing you a wonderful Christmas x

Husband bought me a new Kindle I’ve wanted for ages. I’m chuffed

Treefusis · 25/12/2023 18:35

A toasty warm gillet (asked for) and a gorgeous brooch I didn't ask for from DH but he saw it and thought I'd love it, which I do. Very thoughtful.
Not a physical gift, but super proud of DS15 this year with his gratitude and just general attitude as a whole.

My wife bought me a silly phone case that I pointed out ages ago and she remembered.

The favourite present of the day though has been a beautiful engraved compass ds’s dad bought him- exactly the right thing for him, without any input from me.

icouldhavebeensomeone · 25/12/2023 18:35

My Lego Bouquet! 💐 So looking forward to building it after the DC go off to bed, they've been badgering me about 'helping' all day.. No chance! Grin

Treefusis · 25/12/2023 18:36

@DelilahBucket sorry, I don’t know why I quoted you there!

weegiemum · 25/12/2023 19:04

My MIL bought me a gorgeous handbag made of Harris tweed. It's purple and gorgeous, and I used to live in Harris so it's even more special.

WhatFlavourIsIt · 25/12/2023 19:19

This is totally random. My dh got me a set of playing cards. They are matte black and embossed with gold & silver. Very unexpected & a bit WTF!!!. But I love em. We are going to spend the day tomorrow drinking port & playing cards

riotlady · 25/12/2023 19:34

My husband got me a seaglass bracelet from Cornish Bluebelle, I absolutely love it.

Also my granny’s friend has knitted some cardigans for DS which I’m so touched by. And I love a baby in hand knitted stuff, just so cute!

Lorac23 · 25/12/2023 19:36

A new job offer for the new year and a box of truly amazing, beautifully made chocolates from the sister I talk to x

Lochness1975 · 25/12/2023 19:41

Ds 24 got rat arsed last night and spent the night at his dads and all day there today. Ds18 woke at 5am for his presents then promptly went back to sleep until his dDad pickier him up. So just me and do for dinner. Had some thoughtful cookery pieces and a gorgeous Filofax from dp: Dinner was lovely, Turkey was perfect at 6pm and now chilling before getting ready to do it all tomorrow with the kids!

tweeandbiscuits · 25/12/2023 19:42

Nivea creme from my Nan. I mentioned I'm passing that it's what I use, and she remembered and got me a tin for Christmas.

It's not big, nor expensive, but the thought and the listening to me means the world.

Also a tabletop dishwasher from younger brother.

Bookist · 25/12/2023 19:43

I absolutely love the Joules dressing gown my DDs have bought me. It's really heavy and fleece lined, and is the softest, snuggliest thing in the world.

wannabetraveler · 25/12/2023 19:50

Me too, I have three kids aged 10-15 and a husband. I bought and wrapped everything and in return I got a Lush bath bomb (their products give me a headache) and a gift card to a bookstore. I love to read but I get this lazy gift every year. I ever sent them a link to a wool fedora I wanted. Nothing.

wannabetraveler · 25/12/2023 19:51

That was a response to @Ourshoddyhouse

BingoMarieHeeler · 25/12/2023 19:54

Got lots of lovely things this year!! Unusually! 😍 most excited for my backstage Theatre Royal Drury Lane tour which is a rebook from 2020! Finally going!!

MrsWidgerysLodger · 25/12/2023 19:57

Sappy as it sounds the best gift I've had is a lovely day with DH and DD. I suffer from a chronic illness which means there was every chance I'd crash out and not be present. DD is 6 and easily overwhelmed so add Xmas into the mix and it could have been tantrum central. Instead we've had a lovely relaxing day together, not a cross word on sight, I've been well enough to be part of it and all our gifts have been thoughtful and not "too much" if that makes sense. I'm incredibly grateful for the day I've had.

showdis · 25/12/2023 19:58

I did a secret Santa. I got a Bentior bracelet with a photo of my parents embedded. My mum passed 6 weeks ago, dad 14 months ago. I absolutely love it

riotlady · 25/12/2023 20:05

Gowlbag · 25/12/2023 17:27

This beauty. I can’t decide if I love it or hate it. It was from DS’ girlfriend’s lovely parents so I’ll have to put it somewhere, just not sure where 🤔

Don’t they have that lamp on Gilmore Girls?
