He seems too have big anger issues on I'm a Celeb. AIBU? It's been a rubbish show this year. I don't think I'll watch it again.

I think he's pretty hot!

I do too ! Wish I was younger / he was single
😂

I think he's like the cooler older brother , of course Sam is a pain , I'd have snapped at him by now

WhateverMate · 03/12/2023 14:27

Mybatteryisoutofcharge · 03/12/2023 14:23

Weird or just a different view to you?

Weird because as many others have pointed out, it's like you're watching a different show to the rest of us.

KnickerlessParsons · 03/12/2023 14:28

The biggest nobs in there are Nigel, Fred and Nella.

I really don't get the angst towards Nigel. What's he done to upset people? He's done lots of tasks - most of them well - and he hasn't said anything to offend people whilst he's in the jungle.
Not agreeing with someone's political views doesn't make them a nob. (His political views aren't all that non ish anyway).

Mamette · 03/12/2023 14:31

I think he’s lovely. Sweet with Sam, entertaining during trials and quite handsome.

funbags3 · 03/12/2023 14:31

I think he's very good at swallowing his anger down. You can see it bubbling under the surface though. I have to say I am hyper-vigilant around people with anger issues though as I grew up with one.

I think it's really unpleasant to call someone's views weird just because they are different to yours. I have openly said that perhaps it's just me but I don't think that justified being called weird.

HappyHamsters · 03/12/2023 14:33

I think someone should just ask Sam to stop jumping, someone could get injured. Tony is not angry, it's his way of dealing with the stress of being in confined spaces with crawlies and guts, Ant and Dec wind him up for a laugh. He is really good with Sam, put his arm around him, he knows he is annoying.

Glad it's not just me that sees it bubbling.

@Mybatteryisoutofcharge I can remember the same look on my Dad's face. I knew when to leave the room. Obviously, the cameras are there so he's very good at swallowing it down.

Mybatteryisoutofcharge · 03/12/2023 14:19

But not all boxers are controlled. Didn't one of them bite off Mike Tyson's ear?

No Mike Tyson bit off Evander Holyfield ear .

Bolloxforsure · 03/12/2023 14:37

I’d rather be told my views are weird than be wrongly accused of anger issues.

funbags3 · 03/12/2023 14:37

Maybe that's what makes him a good boxer? He's able to redirect his anger when in the ring.

lollo8 · 03/12/2023 14:37

Tony seems nice, down to earth. I like masculine men though.

Sam is utterly insufferable. Switched off as I find him too irritating to watch.

pinkfongg · 03/12/2023 14:38

Did anyone watch him in SAS? He was a lose cannon!

ThankYoufortheDay · 03/12/2023 14:39

I can’t see it tbh. Even when Ant and Dec were deliberately winding him up, I thought he dealt with it well.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't read Mumsnet and I wasn't accusing him. Anyway I'm going to bow out as I've already said perhaps it's just me but I don't want to be called weird etc when I've already got enough going on.

@KnickerlessParsons
It was nothing to do with Nigel as a politician or his views about that, it was his attitude towards getting as much airtime as possible, criticising "the girls" in terms of doubting they can win the trial. (They did) Then disparaging remarks about Josie being able to be the camp cook.

He comes across as a bit of a misogynist.

Mirrormeback · 03/12/2023 14:43

He doesn't flare up at all

He seems to have excellent control of his emotions

When scared and under duress during trials with critters he hates he might get a bit cross but that's to be expected by anyone

fitforflight · 03/12/2023 14:45

I see what you mean OP, but I think instead of having anger issues he just uses sarcasm as a coping mechanism in stressful situations. When lying there with snakes, his worst fear, and having people wind him up instead of snapping I think his natural reaction is to give a sarcastic response. I can see how it would come off as angry but I don't think he is. Takes a lot of control to be a boxer, and apparently to cope with Sam as well. It's like Shrek and Donkey.

theconfidenceofwho · 03/12/2023 14:51

Sugarfish · 03/12/2023 13:52

I actually think the opposite, seems genuinely nice and I think he’s being very controlled especially with Sam who is clearly doing his head in. I didn’t think I’d like him when he first came in but he’s one of my favourites now.

I feel exactly the same!

Onacuctustree · 03/12/2023 14:52

Mybatteryisoutofcharge · 03/12/2023 14:34

Glad it's not just me that sees it bubbling.

It's not anger though. He is just a bit fed up that Sam is all over him all the time. Probably something he hasn't had to live with before. All day, every day.
Anger would be swearing or shouting at him. Rolling his eyes and stepping away... That's what decent people do.
He seems like a lovely guy to me.
I like Scouse humour.

Sahara123 · 03/12/2023 14:56

Nope, not seeing anger at all ! I really like him in fact he’s my current favourite to win. Definitely not Nella or Fred ..

adventadvent · 03/12/2023 14:59

jeaux90 · 03/12/2023 14:25

Sorry OP but no. I've watched every episode and I don't think that. I also love Sam. Lovely, big hearted, happy dude.

The biggest nobs in there are Nigel, Fred and Nella.

This..

Quite liked Fred until the cooking was taken off him.

pinkfongg · 03/12/2023 14:38

Yes, I remember him in that - he got a bit carried away and had to be calmed down

shamelesss · 03/12/2023 14:59

I think sometimes it’s editing too, the producers call the narrative, for example they showed the bit where he was trying to get ready for the trial and Sam was jumping all over him and he just gave him a look, they could’ve just shown thr bit where they were walking over the to the trial area and he was smiling as Sam and Marvin were hyping him up.
