Go round to their house or trust Just Park to sort this out?

I live on a house estate near and airport. We have parking problems everywhere.

For a few weeks we have been getting people parking in our private off road parking spaces for days/weeks on end. A neighbour confronted one of them and they said they had paid for the space via Just Park. Got in their taxi to the airport and left. My immediate neighbours denied all involvement so I reported the most recent one to Just Park and they told me it’s a house way up the street nowhere near me. They say they are going to ask the seller to prove they own the space. But I really don’t think they give a shit, it’s all just profit for them. Anyone could say they own anything and get a listing on their site from what I can see.

Now once as a one off I would give them the benefit of the doubt and maybe having a crap listing that doesn’t explain the parking but this is the third time and they haven’t noticed the buyer doesn’t park in their sold space? So I think they are selling space that doesn’t belong to them. They are making £30+ I am making nothing and having no parking spaces for days on end.

I considered posting on the local Facebook group but this seems petty? I’m not sure whether to go round and confront them, or leave a note or just leave it up to Just Park? Just park say they are investigating the issue and will ask of proof of ownership from the seller.

I don’t know where I stand with this, I am considering one of those fixed locking bollards however as it’s a shared hard standing space (with allocated parking spaces) I doubt I have permission to install these, and who would I even ask? I don’t think the council own the parking and the developers handed it back a long time ago.

AIBU to be FUMING and has anyone come across this before?

If you are the freeholder and have your designated space, you do not need to ask anyone for permission to install a bollard.

I get so much cringe when I see this happen from other people (usually dog poo and parking spaces) I don’t know if I can bring myself to do it 😂

Not fixed though anyone could take it. I just want the bollards now. I’m trying to find out if I need permission and from who.

Have justpark given you a specific address? If so you can go round and ask them ("confront" isn't necessary - you're trying to iron out any misunderstanding).

Meanwhile progress the bollard thing and show just park that you own the space and threaten to take legal action if they don't remove the advert immediately.

As its pissing off all the neighbours who use the spaces, I'd get together with them and sort out a bollard that only those with allocated spaces can unlock.

Then watch for irate drivers who have paid Just Park for a space they can't access, because its not the sellers space to sell. Bwahaha.

You need to keep the pressure on Just Park, they should stop the space being listed. You shouldn't have to go to the expense of bollards.

Go on Just Park and find the listing and see what it says. If it directs people to your spot then you need to be firm with just park and send them your deeds etc showing that you own it. You can also leave a review for the listing saying its not a legal spot and anyone parking there will be towed. If it is bad directions, go and knock on the door of the lister and ask them to improve the directions to be more specific, if they dont, tell them that you will be getting any cars parked there towed at the car owners expense and they will probably end up in court with the car owners..

I don’t think it’s petty to put on your local Facebook group. I imagine others feel exactly as you do and the more momentum you get JustPark may actually do something!

Can you block the space? You don't need to fork out for a bollard. Arrange for someone else to park there while you are out, or put something on the space for a few weeks like a large heavy planter, or a builders bag of rubble/sand, a trailer or caravan, anything tricky to move.

Don't do this. Or mess with their car - it's not the driver's fault, from their side they've booked and paid for a parking space.
This is on the council / Just Park / the cheeky feckers selling the space

Absolutely no point, we have had an abandoned vehicle on our road, taxed and with a current MOT, it is in my diary to call the council the day it expires and request collection.

We know that the owners have left the country. Small town, people talk. 😁

They have been clever. No obvious photo of my spaces and just very vague non specific directions. This happened before and just park forced the resident to show a photo of the space with the space number on it. Yes just park told me which house was selling it which is why I am so annoyed it’s not even on my street. I have the deeds to my house to show if needed and I had the car registration to track it with Just Park. Problem is once the car is there, you can’t do anything until it leaves again. Then it just happens again. I can’t leave a review I’m not a customer.
The Parker was told not to park there and still chose to however I am not going to vandalise anything I just want them to FUCK OFF. I can’t afford to keep towing cars away costs a ton

I have found who might be able to give permission for bollards and they emailed me a form which I sent back straight away. Fingers crossed they are the right people.

If anyone knows how to tow a car away for free to yourself but charge the owner I am interested 😂.

I could just go park at the sellers house but the space numbers don’t correspond with the house so I would just end up pissing someone else off unintentionally.

If I do Facebook do I call them out for their house number too? Go in heavy and direct or just ask politely?

I'd screen shot the lot, the poor photo, the directions and so on and go round and ask them to correct their listing. Give them a deadline.

I'd also still push Just Park.

And if they don't change the listing, then go for the public name and shame. Without the context of the photo and directions, they'll just claim it's not their fault the person parked in the wrong space so it's important to include them.

If it's a development, it would also be interesting to know if you're actually allowed to sublet your spaces?

Could you rent out the spaces owned by the person that is renting yours out? Or park in theirs.
