My DH asked what I thought of the news that certain Republicans want to rename Washington airport as Trump International Airport.
Since I was under the impression that US usually only names places /buildings /roads after dead people, I said I was all in favor!

I think Washington National Airport had Ronald Regan's name added to it whist he was still alive. But I'd most definitely bring in the "must be dead" criteria for the Orange Fecker.

I think as a general rule, it's not a bad one.

Much as we all love David Attenborough - I felt a twinge of unease that there's a ship named after (or is it "for" ?) him.

Quite apart from propriety and modesty , there is the ever present danger that bestowing such honours on the living could turn out to be a tad .... premature. Imagine the Jimmy Savile bypass or Rolf Harris roundabout ?

I take it that's a response to the unserious suggestion by the Republicans that they want to name some airport or other the Trump International Airport. It's a lot funnier, though.

I'd think it'd be better to change the name of Yucca Mountain to "The Donald J Trump Nuclear Waste Repository". Maybe he can build his presidential library right outside the gates.

What a fucking joke. And he'll probably serve it in some 'Camp Cupcake' minimum security facility that holds mainly white-collar criminals. And with time off for good behaviour, he'll be out in 2-3 months.

I think that's why as much as I'd like to see Trump in an orange jumpsuit, I don't think the sentence would fit the crime. And what's worse is he'd know it. It would be almost insulting to see him get some piddly-ass sentence then sent to a white collar federal prison.

I want to see him breaking rocks in the Leavenworth yard or digging ditches in a chain gang. What a pretty picture that would be.t

Also, I'm sure that disgusting AZ court ruling will be appealed all the way to SCOTUS. Not that I have any confidence in them.

I bet Trump would piss off his fellow inmates in no time though. They might feel like incentivising him, in no uncertain terms, to shut up.

I don't think Trump has any means of stopping it now but I could be wrong - it's so difficult to keep track of the appeals and counter appeals etc!

The article doesn't seem too convinced that the prosecution will be successful but they do admit that there is a grain of hope!
I guess the choice of jurors is going to be very interesting - 12 good men and true and all that!
