He has no backbone, no coherent policies (u-turns a dozen times a day)and no understanding of ordinary people's lives. Plus he wears all his clothes a size too small, which really irritates me.

Being able to reclaim the word woman from biological males is a privilege? Stopping male bodied rapists being incarcerated in women’s jailed was a privilege? Protecting vulnerable children from lifelong medical intervention is a luxury belief?

Women are sick and tired of being told that their concerns should always take second place to other things. We are over half the population and our safety, privacy and dignity is absolute priority.

All what you say is happening is happening under the Tories.

I take it you are not a supporter of the Tories who think that women should be less educated to they stay home and have more babies?

And please tell us how Labour will erase women, me included

I agree with you on males in women's prisons and on medical transition for under 18s. But these things are all happening now, under the Tories, and yet somehow it's Labour's fault? And there isn't a shred of evidence that they have any plans for policies that will make this worse. Meanwhile the Tories slashed funding for domestic abuse shelters, slashed funding for council services which are used more than women, trashed the NHS which is majority staffed by women.

Honestly, I despair.

Having seen how Rosie Duffield has been treated I don’t think Labour can claim to be on solid ground. Or perhaps you think I am a rights hoarding dinosaur.

Lastchancechica · 04/10/2023 21:27

I couldn’t give a rats shit about anything else. The parties are pretty much all the same on every other issue, finances etc but to not recognise my girls, that IS a dealbreaker for me.

So why would you vote for the party under whose watch this issue has exploded? The party who talk tough on 'gender ideology' in front of the cameras but in private have spent 13 years nurturing and growing that ideology?

Edited

I don't think anything, I just think your view is not very nuanced if you think that on trans issues Tories = good and Labour = bad. If you can't see how the rights and welfare of women have been eroded under the Tories, you haven't been paying attention.

I think we were all muzzled. Even on here . The conservatives are the only party that recognise women and willing to protect our rights.

Starmer certainly isn’t going to.

This. Sunak cares nothing for ordinary women. He doesn't know any. He doesn't really give a shit one way or the other about trans issues either. It is dog whistle politics, designed to widen divisions.

@Lastchancechica I think you perhaps missed the post where I asked if you were happy for your daughters to recieve less education than boys so they were more likely to stay at home and have babies?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 04/10/2023 22:07

If you can’t describe what a woman is because that definition now includes males that claim womanhood then you can’t protect women’s rights.
If males can access shelters because woman is no longer a sex based definition then where is the safe space. How can you assess the gender pay gap or sex discrimination if the definition of women includes both sexes?

The need to retain the sex based definition of women and women’s rights is absolutely fundamental.

It’s you who is failing to understand the nuance. Both parties got this wrong but the Tories have rowed back far more effectively and Labour has been too slow and out of touch. Women don’t trust Labour to protect the definition of woman and if that goes then all the sex based protections are at risk.

Lastchancechica · 04/10/2023 22:07

I call bullshit to this whole thread.

Are you in favour of women staying home to raise babies, and recieving less education to encourage this as some Tories have suggested should happen?
