People Using my drive

It's our village fete today, never go because we work Saturday's, I started work first left in my car, DH about 30 mins later in his, leaving one on the drive, got home first to find 3 cars on my drive, one of them I know belongs to a friend, other two do not recognise.

Rang friend to ask if she knew who the others belonged to (as a bit annoyed she had not even asked if she could use my drive for her's ) to be told yes they belong to school mum friends of hers and she knew we would be at work so did not see a problem telling them to park there.

Pointed out I only just managed to get on my own drive and DH will be home shortly and will need to park on the drive as the whole village is rammed with cars, to be told they will be gone by 6pm as just about to have food and a drink, asked for at least one to be moved to park on our own drive, to be told I am unreasonable and ruining it for them.

Very tempted to block one in and refuse to move until the morning because I am shattered, had a stupuidly busy day and just want to chill in my PJ's with food and a glass off wine

I’m just hoping the OP is okay, and there wasn’t a massive cat flight on the drive, car alarms and horns beeping, and people being judo thrown over cars and such….
wish the CCTV was working!

Could you not just block it in and then when they're back you can let them out and they can move their cars out?

Why should the op and her husband come home from work and see idiots parked on their drive without permission and then go in to eat, unwind and relax in their home for the evening, and then have to get up and go out and move their cars to let the idiots out?

Not a chance would I be doing that.

Badbudgeter · 19/08/2023 21:05

I always think when an op disappears on threads like these that the cf turned up and they let them out whilst looking mildly pissed off rather than letting it drag on.

Say it isn’t so!

EffortlessDesmond · 19/08/2023 21:09

Just block them in. No message.

Can it beat the thread with the husband dressing up in a Hazmat suit thinking it was the CFs, and opened the door to find it was the police 😂

I've not seen that one!

Can you link?

How did I miss the thread with the hazmat suit? Off to search for it now...

Someone please link to it. I remember it.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 19/08/2023 21:11

Oops, x-post!

JANEY205 · 19/08/2023 21:13

OP are you and husband both working tomorrow too? I saw you said you will be, but does that mean the CF can return to get her car tomorrow?

Shameless place marking here!

knobheed99 · 19/08/2023 21:20

Cheeky fuckers!
But I suspect the OP has indeed just moved the car when they showed up at the door.

pontipinemum · 19/08/2023 21:20

Did they come back for their cars?

stiltonbriecheddar · 19/08/2023 21:23

I'm hoping OP is absolutely shit faced and hasn't heard her CF friend ringing the doorbell because she's playing music too loud.

LondonQueen · 19/08/2023 21:24

I'd block the car in, unplug the doorbell and turn all the light out, sit upstairs and watch a movie before an early night. They'll have to walk home.

Also rooting for this.

Mangotango39 · 19/08/2023 21:38

Oh keen to know what happens! Stay strong!!
you can't move the card after a drink

LucifersPain · 19/08/2023 17:02

The least I would do is egg them. Superglue in the car locks is good too.

Every modern car works via a remote fob, wouldn't affect them unless the key fob is dead.

CurlyTop1980 · 19/08/2023 21:46

Any update??

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 19/08/2023 21:55

Hopefully OP is now drunk as is her husband and the CFs can't get their cars.

whatdidshedotogetahillnamedafterher · 19/08/2023 22:01

sneak out now its dark and let their tyres down!

Sasha19052 · 19/08/2023 22:07
