To not want to go as Ken to a Barbie party?

DH and I have been invited to his friends Barbie party. DH and another male friend have thought it would be great fun if they each dressed up as Barbie and the wives as Ken.

So DH is now trying to force me to go as Ken. This includes me buying a new mens outfit as he is going to borrow my dress. I don't wan to go as Ken. I want to be Barbie!

This is a complicated solution to a problem that could be more simply solved by telling her husband to fuck off.

It’s my observation in general that most men love any excuse to dress up in women’s clothes! Even the straight macho ones. I think in uni the lads went out dressed up in some sort of female costume almost as much as they went out dressed as themselves.

Clearly, our clothes are more fun and interesting! Who wants to dress as boring old Ken?! What does Ken even wear? What are Ken shoes, Ken shorts, or Ken hair even like?? Your DH probably realises that ‘dressing up’ as Ken means going in his normal clothes and his face and body being silently (or not so silently) evaluated by everyone as looking nothing whatsoever like Ken!

Overall, I think I’d take pity on him and let him be Barbie, but you can also be a ‘sexy Ken’ - nice pair or shorts, ‘boyfriend’ shirt tied in a knot, hair in an up-do, something like that??
