What is your suggestion? That we should say girl +disabled, +guardian raised children? A paragraph long sentence to describe every single infinite base?

Do you really lack the ability to understand that your argument that every single qualifier be used, is bullshit? A female child with disabilities is still....a female. Your argument makes zero sense. And surely you must know that on some level. Saying girl or female, is the way to get over this problem easily, and uncontroversially.

Spot on.

Men and boys can't get periods. Girls and women who identify as boys and men can get periods but they are not actual boys and men . You can't change sex.

Yes, exactly. The article has been consistently misinterpreted and used as a "gotcha" when in fact all it does is state what biologists already know. That DSDs/VSDs are SEX SPECIFIC and actually prove the sexual binary, not disprove it.
There are male DSDs and female DSDs. Just because something has gone wrong along that pathway does not change the fact that they are either male or female. True hermaphrodism does not exist in homo sapiens, and nobody has EVER existed that produced both functioning gametes or something else entirely.
The current estimates are 0.018% of live births, and even within that microscopic figure there exists an even more microscopic segment whose genitals are unidentifiable, and even then with the advent of karyotyping, we know if they are male or female.
There is no third sex.
DSDs do not prove anything, and they certainly don't prove anything about trans culture, because as we all know, the incidence of DSDs is exactly the same in the trans population as it is in the rest of the population.
And as we know, the DSD community has repeatedly asked not be be brought into this debate.

All of this is part of the reason that the old term "intersex" is being phased out by the medical community. There IS no "inter" sex. We are learning more about DSDs every year and we know now that there are, and have only ever been, two sexes.
And the push to include things like PCOS and other common conditions in order to artificially inflate the DSD statistics is an underhand ploy by certain groups in order that the claim could be made that you are practically pushing DSD sufferers out of your way as you walk along the street. Again an attempt to erode the sexual binary and erode the lines between what it is to be a male or female and manufacture a useful "spectrum" which affirms that narrative.

They are, and remain, exceedingly rare conditions.

Louder, then, for those in the back:

Only laydeez get periods!

Only men have penises!

OsirisservesAnubis · 15/08/2023 22:33

I read "child" as being aimed at younger than teen age and also to be inclusive of those whose 'child' is not their daughter, due to being a foster child, granddaughter, step kids etc.

Lol here's your article- unless 'what you reckon' means you know better than people who work in this field as specialists? Sex Redefined: The Idea of 2 Sexes Is Overly Simplistic - Scientific American

@Weatherwax134 And here is the response to that junk science 'article' from an ACTUAL specialist in the field: https://www.theparadoxinstitute.com/read/a-response-to-natures-sex-redefined

You're welcome.

A Response to Nature’s ‘Sex Redefined’ — Paradox Institute

A scientific rebuttal of Nature’s famous piece, “Sex Redefined: The Idea of Two Sexes Is Overly Simplistic.”

Interesting article, thanks. Especially this bit:

"Instead, Sex Redefined is about obfuscation and replacement: first, obscuring sex by overwhelming the reader with a vast array of scientific information irrelevant to the argument, and second, replacing sex with the completely unrelated political ideology of gender identity. Sex Replaced would have been a more appropriate title."

It's been fascinatingly successful. Even years after it has been fully debunked, it is still being referenced by the credulous to prove that you can't really say what sex anyone is, can you, because like, any number of them, yanno, so...
