DP refusing to be seen with me if I'm wearing gold trainers (light hearted)

A few years ago I told my DP that if I ever bought gold shoes he was to take me out and shoot me.

I've now changed my mind and bought myself some gold trainers. I love them and they're really comfy.

But DP doesn't like them and has reminded me of what I said. He says he won't be seen in public with them.

I'm 35 and would happily wear those.

My MiL has those exact trainers!

I've just worn them out of the house as I intend to keep them. Did get an eye roll from DP when I put them on. It remains to be seen if he sticks to his guns about not being seen with me wearing them.

Yeah, those wouldn't be for me, to be honest. But each to their own - I've got several pairs of shoes that most people think are hideous, so no judgement here!

Can I double check, it's the zips that are making everyone say they're old lady shoes, right?

As a) I like a gold shoe, they go with everything and b) I have gold Fitflop Rallys which admittedly don't have a zip and are a slightly different shape but aren't a million miles from the Clark's ones, so now I'm worried I've been inadvertently wearing nana shoes all this time....

I think you're original assertion was correct; and you should be grateful that your DH's only stipulation is that he won't be seen with you; and not that he'll shoot you as agreed 😆

Oh OP! I’m laughing at the comments but glad you’re taking it in good humour, I’m all for wearing whatever the fuck you want, I’m not fashionable at all!
I wouldn’t wear these gold trainers though, I do agree they give off the vibes of more mature lady on a cruise. The zip and the shape of the white sole aren’t good.
However, if you love them and find them comfortable then crack on, life’s too short to just wear what everyone else likes!

Nothing wrong with those either. I wouldn't, because I get all my shoes mucky, but they're fine. Quite quiet as gold trainers go.
