35 , I think!

VerticalSausages · 24/07/2023 18:37

Given 20s includes still being of typical university age but also potentially well established into a career, I think you need to be more specific in your question

titchy · 24/07/2023 18:37

What an odd question! Why would people in their 20's work fewer or more hours than people any other age?

BeByYourSide · 24/07/2023 18:37

My son is at uni so usually only 8 hours. At the moment he’s working up to 40 as it’s the holidays.

vodkaredbullgirl · 24/07/2023 18:38

fulltime

SydneyJKL · 24/07/2023 18:38

Ranging between 40 hours and 65+ hours. The 65 hours is because he loves what he does and has a sideline.

AlligatorPsychopath · 24/07/2023 18:38

I'd expect people of that age to be working FT, unless they were studying or had young children.

GCWorkNightmare · 24/07/2023 18:42

I had a house at 19. Worked 37.5 hours in main job and 20 in my second job to pay for it.

cryinglaughing · 24/07/2023 18:42

Full time and she also runs dance classes 4 times a week in the evenings and a Saturday morning.

momtoboys · 24/07/2023 18:43

40+

PinkDaffodil2 · 24/07/2023 18:43

My child is 3 but DH and I were in our 20s very recently, I worked 48 hours / week (40 for a few months) until kids and he varied, 40-70 hours when he didn’t have exams.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 24/07/2023 18:45

8.30 to 5.30 five days a week. I think her hours are long.

NotSorry · 24/07/2023 18:46

3 children in their 20s who all work full time

1 undergrad who is 20 and does a bit here and a bit there

Gonksmum · 24/07/2023 18:47

40+ as well.

CurlewKate · 24/07/2023 18:49

My ds works anything from
14 hours to 0 over 7 days, but he does have 3 jobs! I think it probably averages out to about 35-40 hours a week. He's 22.

Maybe no kids so throwing everything at thei job?

2023issucky · 24/07/2023 18:50

4 days a week 8.30am-4.30pm

MotherOfRatios · 24/07/2023 18:52

I'm in my 20s and 36 hours

AnnaNims · 24/07/2023 18:56

Bit of a weird question. I have one that has a grad job. He works ft, so 37 hrs per week.

The other one is a undergrad student still, so works in the holidays - maybe 25 hrs per week.

Hardertheyfall · 24/07/2023 18:58

40+ Why do you ask ?

You would be amazed. My daughter has a university degree. Has applied for thousands of jobs in her field (many applicants but not many jobs in the field). Has had a few retail jobs whereby they would only contract her either temporarily or 16 hours.
currently now working 30 hours a week and contemplating doing voluntary work to get into her chosen area

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 24/07/2023 19:01

I doubt my parents would have had any idea how many hours I worked a week at any point in my 20s, what with my being an adult an' all....

Mushroo · 24/07/2023 19:03

You need to narrow it down a bit! I was at uni until I was 24 so worked about 12 hours a week (more during holidays).

Once I graduated I started a full time job with high expectations so was regularly working 9 - 7pm whilst studying for a professional qualification on top.

It’s a bit of a ‘how long is a piece of string question.

ApolloandDaphne · 24/07/2023 19:03

Mine are 25 and 30. They work standard full time hours (9-5/5.30). They will work later if they need to dependant on their work load at the time and sometimes they have to travel a bit but that's all taken into consideration and they can get TOIL if they need to.

turnthetoiletpaperroundproperly · 24/07/2023 19:04

40 hrs pw
